The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Feb 24 2026

Big fan of this album it’s a great example of the transition of British music into the 90s.

I just don’t get it. I’m sure at the time this was incredible. It it aged as well as milk from 1967. Overall in a modern context is uninspired and rather traditional which considering it defined pop rock for the rest of time isn’t surprising. The ability for a band to entirely reinvent their sound and develop their style really is what I feel this album contributes to music.

Overall good and his pioneering and quite accurate predictions are what makes this album special. Granted I just don’t love the style

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Feb 27 2026

Solid album but the lack of bass and the diabolical time signatures is off putting.

In Utero by Nirvana

Mid music for a decent band who sold out and went mainstream. They had the right sound at the right time, but I don’t think this album is particularly better than other bands from the time. The fact that they’ve had zero cultural impact a part from the 90s shows how little their music is worth. Their most substantial contribution to music was not making hair metal.
