beautiful voice, soulful. piano joint (this kind of love) has an underlying sense of suspense built by the melody, supported by the vocals. effect is built by the piano just before the chorus and the isolation of the piano and vocals creates emphasis on the lyrics and the pain of the artist.
living in denial starts off very strong, the gunshot is a stark beginning to the song.
the whole album feels like a culmination of understanding life, its difficulties and coming to terms with self acceptance, how the world works and a reflection of self, love, fear and rejection. the music shows the complexity of emotion and perception - its a careful balance of almost violent music supported and softened by gentle vocals and delicate melodies.
