I need my metal to have a lot more sludge to it. And sludge aside, Metallica had better albums before this. Ride the Lightning is better.
I remember this album from high school, Enter Sandman was my favorite riff, and now it’s played at sports stadiums everywhere. Rightfully so.
Metallica is like one notch better than disturbed. Generally speaking, I don’t love when artists take themselves real seriously. Metallica kind of falls in that category sometimes.
There is barely a song on this album that I’d play on a jukebox. Nothing Else Matters is kinda cool. In high school I used to like the Unforgiven.
I’ll probably never listen to this album again, other than enter sandman at the football game.
2/5
Once my dad found this album in his Saab and he was god damn mad about it. He didn't like this disc. I really did at the time. The lyrics never really interested me and never seemed serious. 25 later they are a lot more shocking, back then it was more of a joke than a thought. I have always enjoyed Eminem for his ability to make hits and his skills on the mic.
...Cuz you don't...wanna fuck with shady....{cuz why?}....cuz shady will fucking kill you.
4/5 boosted by nostalgia, probably won't listen to ever again.
Let it Bleed came out in the same year as Bayou Country. I love them both, they aren’t both 100/100 albums. But they are both 5/5
I always think of this quote from Mark Kozelek:
“It sounded like basic fogerty rock, the war on drugs can suck my co(k.”
I love CCR, and this album will get thrown on the turntable from time to time until I’m in the graveyard.
The song Graveyard Train is a slow groove, and my favorite. I put the pitch down on the turntable it sounds kind of muddy. This is truly an album that is way cooler on wax than Spotify.
Sometimes they sound like the Grateful Dead. Bootleg is so sick.
Owned on vinyl, classic pressing, has a 33 minute run time, and the vinyl version I own is a super thin. It sounds sooo good on vinyl. 5/5 S Tier of classic American rock
Growing up in the time, I always remember thinking music like this, or Prince 80’s, or the Pretty Woman soundtrack sounded overproduced, self serious, and corny.
It took me years for my music taste to appreciate this music, Now I unironically love the sound. This album is sensational.
When someone asks you what the 80’s sounded like.
This album is an hour and fifteen minutes. Idk man the chili peppers are kind of annoying.
I will always sing Under the Bridge though. Maybe even my karaoke song.
3/5
I’ve always liked the opening track Debaser the most.
38 minute run time is a sweet spot. This album rules.
Easy 5/5
This band is awesome. They are referenced in the movie High Fidelity, that's probalby why I looked into them years ago. I've also heard Tom Petty mention them in interviews. I've also listened them a lot on satelite radio and random playlists, but never an album all the way through.
4/5 Bands I hear: fugazi, the replacements, the cure
Super cool album, very accessible. I think I could play this for my wife.
Nice
5/5 I own this on vinyl
