I think I would like reggae more if the world music genre didn’t exist.

Feels a bit unfocused in my opinion. It doesn’t quite hold up Wonder’s 60s era. Summer soft is a sick song though.

It has its moments, but ultimately it bored me. A bit more straightforward and hard-driving than the Rush I’m familiar, which I presume is later Rush.

It has all the elements of rock, but for some reason, it simply doesn’t rock.

Nice blend of 60’s and 70’s styles. Definitely a bridge album between those decades. Scott’s crooning borders on the comical but it works. May listen to more of his discography.

This one is a banger.

Soft rock new wave. The album is great but probably won’t return to it.

Good album. Felt inspired by the Eagles, Queen, Pink Floyd and others.

A solid slab of 70’s folk.

When it comes to jazz, jazz fusion, funk, etc, I get a bit lost in the sauce. It’s no different with this album. Enjoyable, but won’t be hunting down more Herbie Hancock. Great drumming too!

Not a Bowie fan but I liked this more than I thought I would. The first track had a “little kid music but for adults” vibe but opened into more interesting territories afterwards. The song Fascination is a scorcher.

One of those times when I say, “Oh. So that’s who does that song.” Pretty bland overall. These songs kinda sound like shoegaze without the gaze. So just ‘shoe.’ Exciting eh?

I don’t really do well with “noise” or anything that is close to it. I’ll give it a 2 instead of a 1 because it seems influential.

Not an Elvis fan but recognized a few songs (Suspicious Minds is so good). It didn’t take long for me to note how great the backing band and vocals are. Enjoyed that more than Elvis himself.

I liked this more than I thought I would when I read the album description. World music done right.

Almost a 4 but it gets a little too proggy for me at times.

Excellent live production; really captures the feel of a live performance.

Solid, but I’m not knowledgeable enough on hip-hop to properly review this album. I’m rating it a 3 based on merit (though it does get repetitive near the end of the album). What I can also say is that I like it more than what’s out there presently. Hip-hop seems so deconstructed these days.

Macho, nascent proggy rock generously sprinkled with big band, jazz, and blues sounds.

Monster riff after monster riff. The hardcore influences are evident and it’s got that NYC toughness. I’m also a bit biased as I used to be a metalhead, so is this an automatic favorite of mine. My one gripe is the songs are bit long, but that is common for heavy metal.

Only knowing the song ‘Maps’, I wasn’t expecting the sounds I was hearing from my speakers. I liked the sense of urgency I was getting from most of the songs, especially on the front half. A lot synth pop was being pumped out around the time this album was released, and this stand out, like its relentlessly pushing through the crowd. Almost a 4.

Any trope of 80’s hip hop can be heard in this album. Entertaining but repetitive. Recognition is due for its lyrical themes rather than its sound.

There is a strange ethereal quality to this album. Like Pure Moods quietly crept in.

Incredible vocal performance. Live production top notch as well. Gonna come back to this one for sure.

Early grind. Pretty solid.

Like a garage rock musical.

Compelling house music.
