Popular Reviews

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson

Mostly boring. Some flashes of cool sounds and 70s vibe, but could be much better.

In Utero by Nirvana
Apr 01 2026

An oldie but goodie. So much heavier than Nevermind. My fave track is still Pennyroyal Tea.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Apr 02 2026

Just can’t get all the way through it. Never been a big Beatles fan, especially the earlier stuff. That goes for almost anything from the early 60s. I acknowledge that many have stood on the Beatles’ shoulders, and for that they deserve great recognition. But it just doesn’t do it for me.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 04 2026

Enjoyed this a little more than I thought I would. I like the propulsiveness of Sinister Purpose.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Apr 08 2026

Had never listened intently to JM. This album was surprising. Sophisticated chord progressions and amazing sounds all around. Joni’s voice is really just perfect. Call me a convert.

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Apr 10 2026

It grew on me. It got increasingly charming.

Histoire De Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg
Apr 13 2026

Had no idea who this was but I ended up enjoying the album. The language is beautiful and I liked the organic sounds of the three piece. Each instrument had some pretty great moments. Love the orchestral strings, parts of which sounded like they were lifted by NERD.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Apr 14 2026

Jesus fucking Christ. This album is so annoying. I’m in a worse mood than usual, but my god this album is tedious. He’s just copying black artists who already did this, and way better. Every song has the same chord progression, every song is basically the same. Never has an artist done less with some pretty great sounding supporting cast members.

Apr 15 2026

It’s aight. I gave it three stars out of deference to the art of jazz. And the musicianship is as always amazing. But the shapes they create are a little more 50s than 60s for my taste. I didn’t t love the flamenco guitar. Still, guys like Mingus are pioneers and always kick ass.

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Apr 19 2026

A classic, landmark album. Fun enough to listen to but lacking some of the more adventurous sounds of the bebop era. The instruments sound really good. It’s well-recorded. Just a little predictable at this point.

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Apr 20 2026

This album just made me mad. It is terribly boring.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Apr 22 2026
Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Apr 23 2026

Nice. It disarmed me. I’m not a big fan of country but this was nice.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Apr 24 2026

Mostly boring. Some flashes of cool sounds and 70s vibe, but could be much better.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Apr 28 2026

It’s fine. Kind of sad. Guys singing harmonies in the sixties depress me.
