1001 Albums Summary

Classic, smooth R&B. Huge hit in "Shining Star". This is not where my main musical interests lie, but the melodies are catchy and the harmonies amazing. Only downside for my taste are the somewhat random add-on endings to tracks when the main song has already ended. As I listened to this a second time, there are some filler tracks on "Side B."

Solid album. Amazing voice. The hits are undeniable, but there is also a sameness to many songs across the album that make this one tough to listen on repeat. "Send My Love" is a great track since it is a different sound from the rest of the album.

This will forever be one of those albums that critics love, and die-hard fans get; just not my style of music. And I am not hearing the guitar-god, genius label some apply.

This band will never be my cup of tea, but great to get exposed to this complete album since I only knew the hits previously.

All time favorite of mine from growing up. Will never listen to the haters, this album is catchy as hell.

Nice to get exposed to an album I did not know of. Can't believe DP was on her 8th studio album by 1971. A few nice songs, but this one is not for me.

One of my all-time favorite albums

No idea how this got on the list of 1001 albums to listen to before you die.

Certainly a classic of it's time. Not much here for me other than the title track which is great.

I thought I was going to like this whole album based on knowing Lovefool and the Iron Man cover, but the high-pitched, baby-like voice gets annoying 3 or 4 tracks in. I really like a few tracks like Never Recover and Your New Cuckoo, but as a complete album, this is hit or miss for me.

Note sure how I made it one time through the whole album. Incoherent blending of styles mashed up into one album, and yet, seems completely forgettable.

Le Freak is the obvious hit here, but top 1000 album of all time? These 4 minute songs seem endless because they don't really go anywhere.

I'm not a hip-hop guy, and know very little about it, but I know what I like, and this album has so many amazing tracks. The flow of his rhymes just land perfectly. And the choruses are catchy as hell. Only knock on this album is the skit tracks and one or two other filler tracks.

Nice, quirky album of alt-rock from the mid 90s. Not going to be my new favorite album, but very much of its time.

I liked this more than i expected to. Nice to hear earlier Who without being locked in to the same 10 songs i already know. I will come back to this one in the future

Quirky singer/songwriter type of album covering such a wide-ranging set of musical styles. Not totally my jam, but this is enough to get me to explore The Czars and more of his solo work over time.

I guess it's historic and legendary, but not sure why this is part of the 1001 albums you must listen to.
