Everything is great about it, the lyrics, the themes, the production and the flow. The kind of album I like to own on CD and forget about until i stumble upon it on a random day when skiming through the shelves
Long, tellement long...
Never had i listened to a James Brown album (or even song appart from i feel good i guess), and yeah i can see where people are coming from when saying that he's one of the most influencial artist ever. Pretty boring tho. Got hyped during the first song when the brasses came on during the anouncement, but that's pretty much it. I know its a recording from the early 60s, but damn, all i heard was the bassist, and sometime JB's voice coming from the left.
Not my shit, -1 for being an asshole, +1 for basically being the first musician ever
Beautiful album. Not the first time i listen to it, and i rekon i never go back to it also, but everytime i've put on Blue, i remember what a lovely record it is.
Cool album, some songs with pretty daring instrumentals and other that feel like nirvana ripped them. Not what i was expecting at all !
So much going on, very hard to Digest but some great songs
One of my fav albums oat. I have a hard love/hate relationship with Coldplay but their first couple of albums are some of the best soft rock/pop rock ever made.
Always a great time to revisit it
Good album. Not my fav but it pioneered a genre that i adore so I can't deny that.
A fun cover album for sure, but most of the songs are losing what made them iconic, which are either their singer or their instrumental. Not bad either
Its alright. Hard to rate such an important artist when the music doesnt touch you that much
Another iconic sample spotted tho!
meh
If i had a nickel for every mediocre album released in the mid 70s with over the top production, strong dad rock vibes and a space themed cover with a flying object, I would have two nickels.
Which isn't much...
...But it's weird that it happened two times
close enough welcome back Out Of The Blue...
I think the BBoys can display the best sample flips i know, but for their music to shine, they have to shut the hell up !!!!!!!
I don't think it's a hot take, but I'm filtered by their rapping, and this album is no exception. Songs like Get It Together and Sabrosa are very well produced, but what a headache i get by hearing their screams for 1 hours DAMN
Listen I really don't like metal as a genre. But I am also very open minded when it comes to expanding my music tastes, so when my first metal album of the challenge comes in, I accept it and I'm giving it a try with all the good faith in the world
But damn this is bad !!
I hate this guy's voice, so close to being a parody, and a bad one at that ! These lyrics genuinly want to not touch this genre ever again, with these "yeah bring the rock on" or "if you body is ready" nonsense
I wanna say that at least the music is well produced, but it also sounds so clean... too clean even. The kind of metal you would hear in an Iron Man movie if they didn't have the budget for the rights to the "Iron Man" song lmao
Yeah this is not good, thank god it's "only" 45 minutes. I'll be waiting for the next metal album with angst... wait what there's a second one from them in the list???
ps : the cover goes hard as fuck at least, as corny as the music but in a good way
Not a bad album, but not one i'll revisit anytime soon, not really my cup of tea even considering how influencial it was
Not a big fan of this genre of 80s pop, I always found it to be very dated despite influencial to what exists now.
Sadly this album is a typical exemple of this genre, including maybe one of its biggest staple. So not a bad time, but yeah not my cup of tea.
I'm trying so hard to say anything else but this album is just so damn good. Sadly overplayed in my headphone for the last 10 years, so it just doesn't affect me as much as it did in 2016, but the quantity of memories i have with this record is not matched by anything else.
10/10, 11/10 even when you don't have some pretencious prick saying this album is overrated
Never listened to a Johnny Cash record before, its a pretty fun introduction i think.
What if Supertramp was boring and was talking itself seriously?
