Hang on to yourself is pure rock, star man phenomenal as it always is. Better in context, I must say. Bowie's lyrics are absurd while staying grounded in the grit of an American night during the 1970s. Suffragette City is a banger, and reminds me that Bowie existed during the 60s which? Obviously, but not in my head he didn't.

Jun 28 2026

21st Century Schizoid man - holy crap. Like, it's brilliant but I wouldn't add it to a playlist. And at a certain point you might just be making noise. It's like going on an involuntary musical odyssey. I feel like I should be leading elephants across the Alps rather than sitting in my room. Things can be incredible without being enjoyable necessarily. Moonchild - this is driving me nuts. I'm not smart enough to appreciate this, it's just noise. Court of the crimson king - very atmospheric, I was playing hole i.o while I listened and it felt like I was on a quest. A man a city - we're getting through this but we are not liking the experience. If other people can read this - this is my personal thoughts lol I'm sure the album is technically very good don't take anything I say seriously idk what I'm talking about. If anything, today I learned that I am not a prog rock girlie. Valuable experience in all.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jun 29 2026

Nice stuff to have on in the background. I'd listen again, some of the instrumental stuff was awesome. Probably worth another listen. Sunshine was good, as was summer breeze.

Melodrama by Lorde
Jul 02 2026

Okay so the album cover is drop dead gorgeous let's get that out of the way first and foremost. That being said - I prefer artists to sing rather than talk with a backing track. Just not my taste, I feel like every time I was getting into the swing of something we hit a block and came off the rails. Perfect places and green light are kinda fun.

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jul 04 2026

I can't lie I love a song about an artist's beef with their record company. The switch between songs was really good. Unfortunately I am a woman and some of these lyrics were a little? interesting.

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 05 2026

Not a difficult listen, but probably not an album I'd listen to of my own volition. Certainly not bad by any stretch of the imagination. On researching I learned that it's been incredibly influential to the world of hip-hop - maybe if I was more familiar with the genre I'd enjoy it more, but I just don't think it's my kind of music.

B-52's by The B-52's
Jul 06 2026
Heroes by David Bowie
Jul 07 2026

Gotta be honest, I'm not a massive fan of the experimental stuff. I don't listen to music to be challenged, which is of course not the musicians fault. I'm not denying that this is technically a good album, but it isn't the album for me I don't think. Sense of doubt - at the risk of sounding uneducated, the man is just pressing buttons and? I'm not super interested in listening to it. Ditto moss garden like are we serious? For the love of god this is just noise, this is just noise! Seriously I wanna go to bed but no I have to listen to Bowie make noise for another ten odd minutes I was gonna be generous and give this two starts but it's getting one I think because I am NOT having a good time.

Take Me Apart by Kelela
Jul 08 2026

Okay - not really my type of music I find it a little inconsistent. Altadena was nice.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Jul 09 2026

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Not my kind of music, I'd rather be sung to than talked out, but again I got into it. You want it darker and travelling light are pretty good. Reminds me of Johnny Cash in his christian era.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Jul 10 2026

I found it a little sunset over cornfields for my personal taste. Not an unenjoyable listen. I liked the guitar work, even if the vocals weren't my cup of tea.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 11 2026

'But really—all of Vol. 4 was inspired by cocaine. The bandmates were up to their eyeballs in the stuff' Abundantly evident, thank you black sabbath. That being said, the album is pretty good. FX annoyed me but I've come to terms with the fact that I don't like interludes. Supernaut is good. I like St Vitus Dance, and under the sun.

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Jul 12 2026

Brothers gonna work it out - this kinda goes hard, the energy is brilliant actually. 911 is a joke is an absolute ear worm. This album would get a higher rating if I enjoyed interludes but I do not. I do like the interactions with black history and circumstances, especially with the civil rights movement. Fear of a black planet is wonderful social commentary. Revolutionary Generation is good also. In some instances I found there was too much going on at any one time.

Jul 13 2026

A nice little background album. None of the songs really stood out to me, but nor did they annoy me. A very solid three stars. Actually I did like New York City Song. You showed me what love is is kinda fun. I also liked lover boy supreme.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Jul 14 2026

Whole lotta love - theres a little noise for the sake of noise. The central kinda beat of it all was good enough to pull it through though. What is and what should never be has a very fun chorus. Heartbreaker is wild I love that song. Living Loving maid also, very good stuff. Ramble on - took my headphones off like three times cause the drumming make me think something was broken. That being said I think it awoke something in me. AGH THE AUDIO SWITCHING AGH. Moby dick - they really said 'theres too much talking in this book about a whale, lets write a song about a whale with no talking that'll bring balance to the universe, that'll show Melville.' They're really just going for that drum aren't they. Yep, making sure they hit every single one. I haven't read Moby Dick, but what could this have to do with that whale - unless it was the drummer's white whale to write that song is that anything? Bring it on home felt like a very apt end to the album. Gonna give it a four but know that it is a HIGH four.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jul 15 2026

The songs are very vibey actually. I do not like interludes but again I am the problem. Sweet Life and Sierra Leone are good. I liked the musical bit of pyramids. I like Lost, probably my favourite track of the album. Pink matter - 'butter knife, what a life, anyway' goddamn that was SMOOTH.

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
Jul 16 2026

Twice as hard- oh hell yeahhhhhh this is exactly what I wanted to hear tonight. Hard to handle has always been a banger, and nothing has changed. Thick and thin is good. Stare it cold has an amazing ending, idk what stare it cold means but I'm convinced that I've got to. I like charming mess. Can't believe an album called 'shake your money maker' is gonna be one of my higher rated listens I was PLEASANTLY surprised. A four, but a lower four than zeppelin. On par with black sabbath.

A little gloomy for my liking, and the vocals didn't necessarily work for me. That being said, the instrumental stuff was good, especially on big exit. Kamikaze is probably my favourite. I like this is love. We float was a good ending to the album.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jul 18 2026

This goes insanely hard? Zombie is gorgeous work. Also, was that the last post??

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Jul 19 2026

I can't say that I'm excited for another Leonard Cohen album, but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. I like the instrumental bit of avalanche. 'One by one she had to tell them that her name was Joan of arc' is a banger line. Diamonds in the mine - hey so what was that Leonard Cohen, what did u mean by all that about witches and abortion. This album left very little impression on me other than that I do not care for this man or his songs.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Jul 20 2026

I - I thought there would be more screaming. I don't like it and I'm not looking forward to the next hour. Finishing each song feels like an achievement. I audibly groaned when I saw the next one had ten minutes. Every time you think surely, surely it's nearly done it just keeps going, the same damn thing again this is exhausting. Maybe I just have no taste, and honestly I'm fine with that. Damaged was more tolerable than the rest. Thats over with and thank god.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Jul 21 2026

Girls just wanna have fun is a banger as always. When you were mine reminds me of Tegan and Sarah. I like Witness.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jul 22 2026

I like keep the car running and intervention - I did just finish MASH though, so I'm a little biased in that regard. (antichrist television blues) is amazing as well although it's a little unsettling. Been googling the meanings of these lyrics, definitely want to hear more of this artist and probably listen to a few of these again.

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Jul 23 2026

goddamnit it erased all my notes. im not typing again. average album but I kinda got more into the second half - baby drives me crazy was fun

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jul 24 2026

I don't know that I'm in the mood for this but the album cover is great stuff. Those pictures always make me so emotional. Morrissey's voice is not necessarily for me but I don't hate it actually. Take it back, Morrissey's voice is like being a smooth little pebble in a creek. What she said is a banger.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Jul 25 2026

Look an album with no lyrics is going to struggle to get over three stars with me. I have to wonder why that last song is deemed 'explicit'? was the guitar too groovy? was the funk simply too funkalicious? im confused.

The La's by The La's
Jul 27 2026

I like timeless melody and liberty ship. Failure is good as well. I did not enjoy looking glass.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jul 28 2026

Yeah I mean im not really into jazz but this was nice in the background. the album cover is awesome.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Jul 29 2026

I mean this was going to be three stars - not bad, but not super inspiring, then I was subjected to 17 minutes of noise. That is almost half the album. I did not like it. I would not listen to it again.

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Jul 30 2026

Not for me really but I can't deny that pigs and how I could just kill a man are catchy.

Jul 31 2026

Eh I mean this is fine. It did not at all inspire me. The light dies down on broadway was alright, I didn't like the ones that were just noise. Riding the scene was kinda fun before the vocals. I will say that I respect the ambition. And I liked It, the song not the album.

Aug 01 2026

Feel it was truly ahead of its time, therapists everywhere are shaking in their boots. That aside it had me happy honestly, I think I love this actually. Is this gonna be a five star album cause that was not at all what I expected. He really said don't go and hit your wife we love a feminist king. I love a live album and honestly I love sam cooke. Also, 'it aint that leukaemia' had me dying.

Django Django by Django Django
Aug 02 2026

Default is fun. Complicated feelings about love's dart. I mean it's fine and it's ambitious and interesting, it just isn't a sound I feel the need to come back to.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Aug 03 2026

IDK tonite is hitting pretty well. Fun, vibey, low friction album. No complaints, but nothing to write home about.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Aug 04 2026

I like Mercy Me. I also like the political messaging and how it juxtaposes with the slowness of the tunes, and kinda makes these issues universal and accessible. That bit in right on where it speeds up before slowing right down is good. The song as a whole was really good.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Aug 08 2026

This may be sacrilege but this was not the album for me.
