Time To Pretend is basically a generational coming-of-age track, and the songs that most know from this album are iconic for a reason. But the lesser known songs on this album didn’t really get as much traction for a reason. I can appreciate that they sound a little experimental though.

While nothing on this album blew me away in modern day, it definitely sounds like quintessential 70’s funk music. Maybe I’ve just heard too many tracks inspired by this album and it was the blueprint all along. Junkie Chase is basically the sound of every 70’s crime chase scene I’ve ever watched. Fantastic composition, and the band is incredible

Loved that this is a storytelling album, made it all really fun. It’s also very unapologetic in its craziness. I just wish I liked the sound more.

I’m so glad I happened to have a day off when I got this album. Otherwise I would have been driving alone to work at 5am to this as a soundtrack. And I’m not sure I have the mental wherewithal for that. Did I like listening to this? No. Do I think it sounds terrible? Absolutely. Am I somewhat happy that there are people out there just making things like this for the fun of it? Yes. I might not be listening, but keep making whatever bullshit you want. I dream of feeling so free with my own artistic expression.
