1001 Albums Summary

Wasn't a huge fan, I'd heard the single 1999 before but didnt know the name, and other than that, whilst it was interesting music I didnt find it very enjoyable to listen to. Not for me :(

Liked it more than I expected

Really enjoyed it, had been aware of this album for a long time and was happy to finally listen. Watermelon man was a highlight, with experimental sound effects that really created a unique experience.

Ehhhh just not that good and the title track is overrated imo 💔

It was ok, not a huge fan other than the final track. Had never heard of it but seemed typical of its time.

So good, was worried it might fizzle out after all the bangers at the beginning but if anything it became more interesting. Album has been added to the rotation and songs added to my playlist. I also really enjoyed the religious imagery and the general lyricism. Ive listened to some of these title tracks for years so it also creates quite a sense of nostalgia.

Great album, again one I've listened to for years so there is a nostalgia factor, especially after having seen them live at Wembley. Probably not my favourite one of their albums but still full of bangers even if a few songs aren't quite so enjoyable. I need to start rating albums lower if this is a 4 😭

Surprisingly good considering the low expectations I had. Some positively groovy tunes despite some questionable song names

Surprisingly enjoyable, liked the style and the vocals (I seem to just love female fronted rock bands). Also very interesting history of the band!

Alright, some famous songs on here but they didnt feel that unique. Ive also heard mr brightside wayyyy too many times now.

Perfectly good and nice, just not really my style tbh. Incredible longevity on this album though

What even is this lol. I can see the possible appeal and the innovation of the band but honestly only one or two of these songs are listenable for me

Certainly interesting, some cool instrumentation and use of microtonality/out of tune singing. Not amazing but a cool listening experience. I liked the use of folk melodies mixed with Eastern instruments, it was a cool blend
