Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Sep 07 2026

Not a fan of the lead singer's voice, and the overall sound was just... mushy and indistinct. Absolutely nothing stood out to me.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Sep 08 2026

A couple of bangers – My Doorbell, and Blue Orchid, but the rest of the album is just pretty weird. Jack's voice is fairly irritating on many of the other tracks, and there are various odd childlike motifs. Not a fan other than those two tracks.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Sep 09 2026

Great album! Some amazing tunes on here – Bittersweet Symphony, Drugs Don't Work, Lucky Man... but the rest is great too. I liked One Day, but just the general feeling of the album.

xx by The xx
Sep 10 2026

First couple of tracks are decent, but then it sort of trails off. I've only listened to the whole thing once but I'd say the second half is very forgettable. Maybe it's okay as chill background music. I liked this review: "Man we sure did like boring albums in the early 2010s".

Sep 11 2026

Interesting album. Wouldn't be my usual sort of thing, but I found it was good to have on in the background while working and just groove away. I don't think I'd otherwise want to just sit and listen to it though – the jam nature of the band means some of the tracks get quite repetitive, and one or two are maybe overly long.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Sep 14 2026

Not a big fan of the overall sound. Found the album quite forgettable and a chore to get through.

Bossanova by Pixies
Sep 15 2026

Really enjoyed this! I'd only heard some of Doolittle before, having first been exposed to the Pixies via Fight Club. Some tracks are better than others but in general I think it sustains the pace throughout the album. This is also the first time in this project that I've saved some tracks as favourites.

No Other by Gene Clark
Sep 24 2026

Quite nice easy listening. Country-adjacent music wouldn't normally be my thing but this is pretty chill.

Happy Trails by Quicksilver Messenger Service
Sep 25 2026

And there was me hoping for a good album today.

Metallica by Metallica
Sep 29 2026

I'd never listened to a Metallica album before, and I really loved this!
