Ho-ly. SHIT. This album is aggressive and angry as fuck. It still resonates today especially with 2020's BLM movements. Production is tight and reminds me of early NIN, a shed load of samples and turntablism (from the sound of it) expertly crafted. This album is powerful. 10/10
Classic soul album She has such a great voice and so much of the blues is in this. 10/10
10 years ago,I would have been all over this. Not that it's a bad album, its definitely a hard hitting industrial metal album and set a lot of groundwork but it doesnt make me want to move in the same way as before. Great production overall though, the machine drums and that grinding guitar tone is tight. Would I listen to this again? Maybe,at night, after a long day working,in a metal club, while drinking heavily. 3 stars but more like a 4/10 from me now.
Awesome album, not really for the faint hearted but fantastic musicianship
A technically good album that ticks the boxes in terms of production and sonic quality; Amy sounds like she is singing about issues close to her. Not really my cup of tea though, found the tracks bleeding into each other after a short time.
Good album, never actually listened to it in full before. Can definitely hear the influence that it had on the ska scene.
Good album, brilliant voice. Can't see myself revisiting it often but it's still nice to hear.
Already know that this is a great album. Listened to it a lot:)
Oh this album is great! 10/10 not a bad track here
Well this was an interesting listen. Definitely an experimental time, Joni must have been influenced by synthesizers, jazz and progressive rock as much as her previous style. There are definitely some words and lyrics which I didn't understand. This could be as much the way she chooses to sing them as much as the words themselves. I feel like I'm missing something in the lyrics, it could be the age of the album. It could be the way she sings. Perhaps someone more familiar with both the 1970s and Joni would know. Overall, I enjoyed it and would probably listen again. 7/10
I really like this album. The musicianship is brilliant. Not always an easy listen but there is a lot of stuff going on. Definitely best experienced with a set of really good headphones to immerse yourself in.
I'm sure this was ahead of it's time, so sonically speaking, but it doesnt do it for me.
Not bad. Indie album with some interesting prog feelings. I'd listen a couple more times to try to feel this one out.

Excellent lp. Nothing more needs to be said
Good album, plenty of variety here and showcases what Sting and the boys could do. 6.5/10
One of my favourite albums by one of my favourite bands. Enough said there really.
Soooooo boring. I really dont class this as rock no matter what people say. Nil points.
I couldnt find the album but the title track is a beautiful bossa nova piece. Gorgeous voice and nice guitar style.

Somewhere between the Smashing Pumpkins and R.E.M. The La's sit comfortably with an early 90s rock sound that has definitely been influenced by 60s and 70s classic rock. It's a shame that they only managed one album however this one album does have a range of tracks. It seems to blend punk, rock, shoegaze and indie. I could listen to this again, 7/10
Not really for me. I can see the appeal of it for anyone into the the new wave/goth scene but it doesnt do it for me. 5 stars for the quality of the music but only 2 stars for how I relate to it.
Awesome album, not really for the faint hearted but fantastic musicianship
A blend of ska, blues, 2 tone and 60s pop for all the songwriting. Not too many memorable tracks flaunt their way but still a good example of 2 tone/ska of the era. I'd wager that this bears repeated listening. 6.5/10
Hard to give a rating. It's not a bad album by any stretch but after a while it becomes hard to distinguish between songs. Lyrically, its tight and there are some solid grooves they rap over but there are definitely better rap and hip hop albums out there.
