Rock Bottom
Robert WyattThis is something I could sink into. First listen of Robert Wyatt. No possible way to digest it all in the first listen. My favorite kind of music. Sounds ahead of its time.

Trying to rate this album without knowing the trajectory of her career. Filthy, grungy, garage rock at its core. Unrefined sound. Glimpses of creative risk with Mansized Sextet. This is music that a local band who used to play at the barn at the end of the dirt road is now playing at all the nearby dive bars.
Not a ton to dislike about The Doors. Except maybe for some Jim Morrison silliness. Sort of a link between classic southern country blues and glam/new wave pop rock. Clearly California. I love this album.
This is the apex of RHCP. Memories of just finishing high school and first road trip.
This isn’t something I usually go for but by the end of this album I was really into it and even sad it was over. I had this unhealthy urge to pour a whiskey and chain smoke throughout the listen.
I enjoyed the eclectic sounds present in this album. No two songs sounded the same. I’ve never been big on the glam but have been more appreciative of Bowie’s production genius as of late.
Not much here that I get excited about. I have the same reaction to most stuff I hear from Morrissey/The Smiths. But I haven’t listened to all that much.
Love me some Beach Boys!
Immediately hearing Sufjan Stevens. Also, not something I’m into right now. I can see putting this on just out of high school, while drinking with a friend or two and getting ready to watch an art film.
Perfect album as the weather is heating up, lol. For some reason I feel like driving through a busy city on a Saturday night with my windows down.
Only listened to a few songs. I don’t hate this. If I’m with friends who insist on listening to country, these classics are what I will ask them to play.
As I listened to more tracks I could see there was some complexity to these arrangements that were not boring. I don’t love the ironic tongue in cheek style but I can see its appeal. Seems to fall in with bands like POTUSOA, Barenaked Ladies, or maybe Tenacious D.
To be honest his singing style starts to bug me very quickly. All I can think about is SNL's "The Californians," even though he is English.

The Beatles are the Beatles when listening to The Beatles by The Beatles.
Classic! Not much else to say.
I'm not sure if I'm able to give an informed comment on a classic jazz album. A reminder that I need to listen to more jazz. But this is a standard. 5 STARS!
Not my thing at all.
Another good Doors album. I think LA Woman is a bit better, but I still just love their whimsical sound.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Cypress Hill kind of became a one trick pony. But there is some quality production on this project. Definitely some early 90s cruisin music.

Enjoyed. Proto-Grunge. So fun to sing along with.

I remember the opening track. Brings me back to when I first started driving. Mostly forgettable.
