Popular Reviews

Wild Planet by The B-52's

I got this album the day I got their debut album so to me they are one big long album. No, really...I could never decide which I liked more. There is no ROCK LOBSTER like hit on this album, but I think it might be better than the debut... maybe? Still I love it and think it is amazing.

Treći Svijet by Haustor

A cross between Madness and the Police. You can really hardly tell that the language is foreign. Very enjoyable. 4/5

Don't Say No by Billy Squier

This album takes me back to 1981 again. Every songs is so great. This has always been an absolute favorite of mine and I don't think I've heard it in years. Standouts: The Stroke, Lonely Is the Night, In the Dark, My Kinda Lover, Nobody Knows, Whadda You Want from Me, You Know What I Like, Too Daze Gone, I Need You, Don't Say No. (Yep, that's every song...) 5/5

O by Damien Rice

The Blower’s Daughter has always been a favorite of mine. Something special here. The album is really nice….can make you feel a bit quiet, maybe depressed. But, i really liked listening to it.

A City Dressed In Dynamite by That Handsome Devil

I kicked this Damn Door down! Standouts: Damn Door, Cry Easy to listen to. Great style. He does sound like Tom Waits and some others but still I enjoyed it overall.

Great listen. Found myself enjoying just about every song.

Funky Rock from Nederland! Really makes me miss the times I lived in the Netherlands. Ajax! I left the Netherlands in 1992 so I just missed this one.... This album is really good. It stats out really strong. Each song has it's own unique style and from start to finish you never know what to expect next. They sound a lot like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and a few other bands so they lose points for originality. 4/5

After Hours by The Weeknd
Jun 04 2024

Definitely a good album. It's not something I would listen to often, and I think his style gets old half-way through the album. This one (for me) is better when the tracks show up randomly on a massive playlist. Blinding Lights is great. 3.5

Don't Throw Stones by THE SPORTS
Jun 06 2024

Who Listens to the Radio was a minor hit in the USA. I think this would have been a fun album to listen to back in 1979... 3.5

Kick by INXS

Brilliant album - start to finish - this is incredible. 5/5

What a contrast in music: Just the first two songs. It's Okay to Cry and Ponyboy couldn't be more different styles. I never heard of her before and thought OK, this is going to be a pretty mellow album when I was listening to the first track. THEN, Ponyboy started and damn! That's when I fell in love with the album. RIP, Sophie. Thank you for the music. Standouts: Ponyboy, Faceshopping, It's Okay to Cry, Immaterial, Whole New World/Pretend World 4.25

Mouth Sounds by Neil Cicierega

A couple of decent moments, but overall it was absolutely annoying. 1.5

Ram by Paul McCartney

Great album. Standouts: Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, Another Day (1993 CD Edition) Other Greats: Too Many People, Heart of the Country, Monkberry Moon Delight, Long Haired Lady, The Back Seat of My Car, Ram On, Smile Away. Rating: 4.5 / 5

One Time for All Time by 65daysofstatic

I listen to more of this style music thanks to the 1001 albums project. The project has really expanded my musical tastes. The first couple times I listened to the album, I really didn't pay much attention to it but, it is really growing on me. It album will only get better the more I listen to it. I like it and I am grateful to the submitter for sharing it. Standout: Await Rescue. Not ready to call it great, but it is a solid 4/5

OMG. I almost forgot about this one! WOW. Frigging love hearing this again. What a unique sound. Love their crazy videos and lyrics!

The Emancipation of Mimi by Mariah Carey
Jun 27 2026

She is talented, but her ego kills her likability. I have no time in my day or life to listen to such a diva. She used to be very likeable when she first came out, but fame has went to her head. If you enjoy listen to her endless runs and over-singing... then you'll be ones giving this five stars, but there are many of us that have had enough. 1/5

Civilisation by Kero Kero Bonito
Jul 25 2026

Civilisation I or Civilisation II or both? The album cover is like "I" but the date is for "II". They were EPs so I listened to both as one album. Pretty good sound. Definitely listenable and I'd be happy to heard it again. 3.5

The Money Store by Death Grips
Jul 26 2026

Very acclaimed album but it's not for me. 2/5

Panorama by Hällas
Jul 30 2026

So I listened to it, assumed it was a 1970s prog rock album I never heard of. Prog rock isn't my genre so there are plenty of bands I don't know. I was ready to give it an average 3/5 and move on.... THEN I see the album was released in 2026... 2/5

Prowler In the Yard by Pig Destroyer
Aug 01 2026

That was about what I expected. I love loud hard music but this is ridiculous... it is just loud and screaming every song. 2/5

Spanners by The Black Dog
Aug 02 2026

IDM, Intelligent Dance Music or it could be Loud Ambient or Ambient Techno. I think Ambient Techno fits better. I listened to the album a couple of time and was really unimpressed. Then I listened again with my earbuds... made a huge difference. This is one of those albums that is more about the subtle sounds along with the ambient beats. Chase the Manhattan seemed to be the best song based on my first listen. But this album doesn't seem to be about individual tracks, it's more of a complete package of sounds and style. I can see this album growing on my as time goes on. Standouts: Chase the Manhattan Rating: 3/5

Troublegum by Therapy?
Aug 03 2026

Alt Metal. This album rocks. I really enjoyed it. Standouts: Knives, Screamager, Nowhere, Die Laughing, Isolation, Turn.... 4/5

Bring It On by Gomez
Aug 04 2026

1998, Indie Rock Singles: --------------------- 78 Stone Wobble (UK, 44) Get Myself Arrested (UK 19) Whippin' Piccadilly (UK 35) Standouts: Get Miles, Get myself Arrested, Tijuana Lady Rating: 3.5/5

Crazy Rhythms by The Feelies
Aug 05 2026

1980, Art punk, post-punk, jangle pop, avant-pop, new wave I really liked the first track, "The Boy With The Perpetual Nervousness". Long and strange title, but it set the album off on a good note and left me wanting to hear more. Standouts: The Boy With The Perpetual Nervousness, Forces at Work, Beatle's Cover: Everybody's Got Something to Hide, Rating: 3.5

Treći Svijet by Haustor
Aug 08 2026

A cross between Madness and the Police. You can really hardly tell that the language is foreign. Very enjoyable. 4/5

Never Too Much by Luther Vandross
Aug 09 2026

You can no go wrong with some Luther in your day. I can get never too much of this album! Standouts: Never too Much, A House is Not a Home, Sugar and Spice 4/5

Hawaii by The High Llamas
Aug 11 2026

Album Cover: 3/5 (The PowerPoint presentation look of the word Hawaii is really distracting from what could be a cool album cover. But, 1996... That was a thing then... Best Track(s): Sparkle Up, Nomads, Literature is Fluff Overall, the sound and feel of the album are right where I wanted to be today. Smooth, soft and gentle with subtle space-age and sometimes out of place sound-effects. At the end of Sparkle Up I thought we were going to transition into Edgar Winter's Frankenstein. The singing can be awkward, but I kind of like that. It gives the album character. There are certain elements (like the horns) that bring the songs up a notch. Rating: 4/5 This one could - some day, not now, make my list of Top 10 favorite finds (listener albums).
