I was sad to here that they were from Ohio but I researched it and thankfully only the guitarist is. My deepest condolences go out to Ed Crawford for the place he was born 🙏
Didn’t like any of them besides lion in a coma. Psychedelic pop is not it
Didn’t really like Licensed to Ill but this one is much better.
This album could stop wars
Way better than I expected. Love the message
Didn’t expect to enjoy. Better than anticipated
Pink pink pink pink… pink moon 11/10 album listened to it probably 50 times
About what I expected
Man has a very soothing voice. Especially when he says “then we take Berlin”
Fine
Good Coldplay album
This wins. By that I mean worst album I’ve ever heard 🥇
Good Bowie album. There’s better but good the title track stands out the most
Funk on funk. All good not a bad song on it. Couple songs stand out even on this album
Decent live
I get it. Decent. Will I ever listen again? Very unlikely.
Welcome to the Jungle: love it. The delayed opening from slash creates the setting for the album. The solo may not be Slash’s most technical but puts his heart into it with a couple pinch harmonics. Backing vocals as well as Axl kill this. Drum beat throughout really welcomes you to the jungle (LA) the meaning of this may not seem deep at first but once you realise it makes the song even better. It’s so Easy: The beginning of this builds up to a riff that may let some down. Axl shows off the literal opposite of his WTTJ falsetto voice and drops to a baritone. The huge vocal range of Axl Rose is the strong face of GnR. The riff feels like if you gave slash 5 minutes to come up with something, he still delivered. So fucking easy. Nightrain: the opening of this feels amazing. All the guitars on the track allow for a huge presence. The solo is one of the best on the album and shows off ever slash has to offer. The song just makes you feel something especially at the end when a guitar solo is but behind an emotion filled chorus. Out ta Get Me: Izzy and slash pull off what they do best. The verses underdeliver slightly but the explosion into the chorus make it worth it. Classic GnR les Paul tone is the soul of the band in general. Mr. Brownstone: switched up the tone and Axl comes back with his deep vocals. It almost sounds like a different person. Other than that the song is nothing out of the ordinary for AFD. Good song but could be forgotten in the album. Paradise city: one of the best tracks in album. Infectious “Take me down to the paradise city where the grass is green and the girls are pretty” solo takes the song to another dimension with a simple melody mixed with a hard rock guitarist. Change in tempo showed skill of Steven Adler. My Michelle: can’t believe the Beatles copied guns n roses with the lyrics! The song just makes you want to get up and jump. The verse makes you think it can’t get any better then there’s an explosion into “WELL WELL WELL MY MICHELLE.” Aggression roars in this song and I’m not complaining. Think About You: sled down just to pick it right back up. Feels like any generic song harder to pick out than the average song in the album. Got once the lyrics are quite nice though. Sweet Child of Mine: as overplayed as it is it’s still the best song on the album by a country mile. Slash’s best riff to date. Not just the initial part but the transition to verse blows anyone away. The chorus redoes the riff in a different way and it’s so refreshing still. Many top notch solos that are hard to be beat in the world of rock, I might go as far as to say one of the best ever. Axl is a bit of a hero here for singing like a devilish angel. The man literally makes his voice a riff at the end. His technique is unparalleled. Where do we go now? You can tell they knew this would be a hit by the level of production and layers for Axl. The song will for sure make you play this in your head on repeat. You’re Crazy: anything after the last song will feel like a step down but the band come in hot and go hog wild on all the instruments. It keeps you rocking. I do feel like it could be forgotten however the “you don’t want my love, you want satisfaction” line is to be remembered. Anything Goes: interesting riff choice and I enjoyed it to an extent but leaves a lot to be desired for most people. It’s a good song but perhaps not up to the high standards of Appetite for Destruction. Nothing really stands out and gives it its own identity. Rocket Queen: great song; could do without the strange moans. A long song and a great album topper. There’s not much to say about this besides the chorus really makes the song “here I am”
Really good punk. Not quite sex pistols level.
Just feels very empty. Don’t care for techno music and definitely not a fan of 1 hour straight. Just as you finish a song you think it’s q gonna get better; it always remains the same boring level which I’m not about.
Waters is a dick. But he’s a magnificent dick
Better than I expected out of it
Just not it
Went in expecting to dislike it. But the singing ability is fantastic and can tell the meaning is special even if I can’t understand what is said
Do prefer Joy Division but that was something Ian Curtis made so good. As good as it gets without Ian Curtis though
Somehow the best album to release on that day. Smells like teen spirit is in the top 10 songs in my opinion. And the rest of the album isn’t far behind. Iconic
Iggy pop is a bit of a bop
Never my type but Atlantic city is universally good
As good as the genre gets
