Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten

Music is context specific right. And my current context is really jarring with this. This ISN'T work background music. But, there's something that's made me curious. I like the textures. The drums on Steh auf Berlin sound similar to a Woodkid track (you know the one trending on TT right now). There must be some techno remixes of these songs playing at Berghain right? U-Haft-Muzak has a really interesting intro, and not surprised to read one of the band members joined Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. Can hear how Nine Inch Nails have been influenced by them. Apparently the band threw fire at their audiences and damaged venues. Hmmm, that sounds like really shitty behaviour IMHO.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Sep 05 2022

Giving it a 2 ⭐️⭐️ out of 5. Not making it into my top 100 albums. Songs I might listen to again - Can’t you hear me knocking (enjoyed the guitar solo and The Doors vibe).  But not a massive Rolling Stones fan (although Paint it Black is a brilliant song)

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Sep 06 2022

👍🏼👍🏼 Video for Alright should be watched too

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Sep 07 2022

Would like a bit more growl in that grunge! Enjoyed Rocket, Geek U.S.A. I'm wondering if this could be an album I enjoy more with further listens....but....there are other grunge albums I'd be going to should I be in that mood.

Street Life by The Crusaders
Sep 09 2022

Happy to have been introduced to this album 🙌🏻

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Sep 12 2022

I tried. I really did. Please don’t make me listen to him again. DNF.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Sep 13 2022

Ok...generally it's a meh. But, White Winter Hymnal is a song of it's time, and I respect Fleet Foxes influence on that folk scene that became big around that time. I'm not going be choosing it to play, but my ears wont be offended to hear it playing round a sibling in law's house. Which is likely. Your Protector - enjoyed the drums.

Underwater Moonlight by The Soft Boys

There’s a lot of early pink floyd in this. And I like Floyd. And some Beatles? But nah, not one for me

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Sep 19 2022

This album is a belter. Reminds me of good times. Songs of note: Black Hole Sun Spoonman Let Me Drown is a brilliant opener. Love the drums, the driving basslines and Chris Cornell’s vocals are iconic. Absolutely one of my top 100 albums.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Sep 20 2022

I loved this when it first came out. For some reason not as gripped by it now. So giving it 4 stars for historic reasons. Otherwise, maybe a 3.

LP1 by FKA twigs
Sep 22 2022

This is such a beautiful album. Saw Twigs play twice and astounded and moved both times. Standout tracks: Lights On Two Weeks Hours Give Up Tbh I could just write the full track listing here.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Sep 26 2022

I know it's of it's time, but, it hasn't turned into a vintage for me.

Pink Flag by Wire
Sep 27 2022

Never heard of this before...I enjoyed the intro to Three Girl Rhumba. Clearly Elastica did too. Not the type of stuff I can listen to at home, but I'd be up for watching them live.

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Sep 28 2022

This was a nice surprise. Born under a Bad Sign, Tonight, Last Orders were particularly interesting. Hearing John Grant vibes.

Private Dancer by Tina Turner

What's Love Got to do with it is a cracker, and I'll happily attempt to belt along to this, drunk or sober. I mean, Show Some Respect is some proper shoulder bouncing stuff. I'm dancing in my seat right now. The intro to 'I can't stand the rain is great' with those techy marimba sounds (the intrusive brass...less so). Even the songs I don't particularly like, it's pretty hard to sit still to it.

Vivid by Living Colour
Oct 13 2022

Eurgh i wrote a whole load of notes here that didn't get saved. In short, I liked it, a nice surprise as hadn't heard of the band before. Preferred the growly stuff. The bluesy guitar was real nice. I really enjoyed listening to it.... giving it a 3 as probably wont listen to it as an album again.

Fun House by The Stooges
Oct 14 2022

never listened to any Stooges albums before. I liked it. Dirt is great, some sexy guitar in there.

Melodrama by Lorde
Oct 18 2022

I was expecting to be blown away by this...but...wasn't. Pretty good background music for working.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Oct 28 2022

Confession, I have never listened to this album before. I know lots of people will judge me for that. It's very jolly. I see why people love it. And respect it for it's craft. But probably not something I'd listen to as an album again.

Made In Japan by Deep Purple
Nov 01 2022

I like a drum solo, but blimey The Mule just took the mickey. Were the rest of the band even on stage whilst it was happening or just wandered off and left Ian Paice to cover for a reallllllly long time? Strange Kind of Woman sounds like a classic rock pub band standard,

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Nov 03 2022

ok, I know it sounds like a hotel lounge, but you know what, I quite like it. I'm ready to drink a dirty martini and click my fingers whilst leaning against the side of the piano and really annoying the pianist by being one of 'those' drunks.

Dummy by Portishead
Nov 09 2022

This album holds a special place in my heart, and I'm immediately transported back to 16 years old and all the yearning and heart aches of that time. I could basically list the whole album as standout tracks, but I'm going to restrain myself: - Mysterons - Glory Box - Roads Honestly I don't think this sounds aged at all...or maybe it because Bristol bands are reigniting these sounds at the moment as part of the 90's and Y2K revival. either way, I'M HERE FOR IT.

Kenza by Khaled
Nov 10 2022

E'Dir E'Sseba is a funky tune.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nov 16 2022

Lots of memories of this album, mostly involving skate boards, watching my mates play in bands that sounded like RHCP, very ripped baggy jeans, converse, and 2 litre bottles of Strongbow cider

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
Nov 17 2022

What an interesting surprise. Never heard this before, but actually enjoyed listening to it end to end, which definitely isn't true of many albums I've been presented with fresh on this adventure!
