1001 Albums Summary

Had a bit of an uncanny valley effect for me. There's a lot of music contemporary to this album that I love and have listened to it a lot and so I could hear the influence this had on those or vice versa. But there was a darkness and intentional dissonance to this album that threw me off a bit.

Been a long time since I've listened to it start to finish.

Holds a special place in my heart. My dad was a huge fan of this album and we listened to it a lot when i was young. Also, whenever he'd sit down at the piano, he'd inevitably play The Weight, which he's stated is his favorite song of all time.

I'm usually tepid about organs in jazz, but this was pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

could not get into it though i did like the little variation on the elvis song in the opening track.

i feel like i hear a decent amount of zeppelin influence here

so much orchestration on the opening track. i'm used to sparser from nick drake. and a lot of very 70s sounds. but it's still clearly nick drake.

so dang good

James Taylor was probably some of the first music I listened to. Like, from a time before my long-term memory was forming.

not my everyday cup of tea, but i appreciate it

undeniable talent, but it's all a bit too much for me

such beauty, and joy, and depth, and craftsmanship, and adventure. can't imagine any way this could be better.
