John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band
John LennonI always found John Lennons later Beatle output too whimsical but this album is raw, personal and direct.

Classic Elvis.
Electronic music classic. Hall of Mirrors.
Strong flaming lips influence packaged into electronic indie rock.
The Band Played Waltzing Matilda.
Not my favourite album of theirs but a classic.
Classic funky jazz
Gen X classic.
Funk classic with amazing guitar playing. Title track guitar solo worth 5 stars alone.
Electronic music classic. Hall of Mirrors.
Instant 5 stars.
Bossa nova classics with Frank and Jobim. Trombone solos!
Would have loved a lot more when I was younger.
Very good but not my jam.

Would have loved this when I was younger but there are other bands of the same era that do the same thing better and more timelessly.
An old favourite.
Ambitious and some classic songs but not my jam. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to hip hop like this and some of it sounds unmusical. Also too many talking interlude tracks.
Bangerz!
I love Solsbury Hill but the rest of the album seemed a bit uneven.
Deserves so repeat listens.
Classic funk album. Very good but didnt resonate for me.
90s alt rock. A few familiar tracks.
5 stars for Nothing Else Matters on its own.
Nightswimming is an all time favourite song but this whole album is full of amazing songs.
70s prog rock that’s surprisingly poppy.
Classic Frank
Wild horses.
Classic Elvis.
I’ve listen to Forever Changes a bit in the past but this is also a great album. Deserves some repeat listens.
Running up that hill. Also some Boards of Canada sounds.
California Dreaming. I was really drawn to the vocal harmonies on this album. Also Jens Lekman looks to have sample from Do You Wanna Dance.
All the songs are solid. One is a metallic classic.
Waiting in Vain. Classic Bob Marley tracks here. All the songs are solid though Bob Marley is synonymous with Reggae the genre can seem like a bit of a one trick pony. Definitely need to be in the mood.
My favourite Rolling Stones album when I was younger mainly because of Gimme Shelter and You can’t always get what you want. Probably overtaken by other albums but still a classic album.
This has received heavy rotation of the years. Still just as good. All My Friends.
Another long time favourite. Guilty pleasure boomer music.
The man knows how to make a racket.
Classic Sanata - Oye como va
Shake it off and bad blood.
Not a weak track on this album but can’t help but feel this probably doesn’t resonate with the young people like it did in the 90s.
Grunge classic. Rooster - 5 stars.
Heavy.
