Confession, never have I ever listened to Nirvana
Not bad, rock alt vibe for this one. Some hit, some were not my style
Confession part 2
Never listened to Pink Floyd
First half gave, Nevada, New Mexico, desert 70s film with Orange hue editing. Second half gave a rich man’s house with shag carpet, wearing emerald colored suit. All That randomness to say, good composition to paint a good visual for me (which is what my brain goes for). Not what I would throw on to vibe personally, but it is a good vibe .
This album was consistent with the band name as it gave deep purple hues and vibes (connection with the cosmos if trying to be technical with color frequency). The Color of magicians and wizards to be fun. That is to say with all of these so far, I haven’t heard any of their other music but I would listen to them willingly and knowingly.
Highway star scratched the brain itch and I really liked. My favorite was Pictures of Home.
Simple visual for this album (bringing in the purple and cosmos)
Is just a band playing on a floating stage in space (distant galaxies in background and streams of purple hues mixed with some yellows and reds in front - also coming from the chords they’re hitting. Pulses of vibration over the whole field of vision)
Good Vibe
Classic 80s / drive into the 90s style. Flav giving hype and pull, Chuck D spilling the tough thoughts from the early morning and late night journal entries, and Squad with great production.0
I personally have to be in a particular “Head space” To sit and listen to Public Enemy, as the lyrics always outweigh the rhythm/beat/music. Nevertheless, they never disappoint, and I feel this album (known as one of their bests with many classics) was a great collaboration of the group; we are looking at just Chuck and Flav on the cover, but it’s whole Bomb Sqaud effort that is heard and felt with the entirety of the album
“ black steel in the hour of chaos “ in hindsight, rings even better
Good vibe
-Station to Station gives imagery of a train traveling literally station to station in the intro of the song. Passengers being various instruments/sounds entering and exiting. Then Bowie hops on vibing
-Repetitive hook finishing out the songs for some. “Word on a Wing” was nice
“Stay” is verrryyy funky
Nice vibe. Music > lyrics, conclusively
Can’t say I’m turning it on for my vibes.
Sweet but hip Grandma sitting on the wrap around porch telling stories and vibing. Classic country narrative Music but Dolly has a signature voice.
I appreciate the work… for others
I could not stop hearing Jack Black in the hook of “Where do the Children Play?”. Quite entertaining that one was, although I was waiting and expecting more to be added to the song as far as instrumentals go. Cat Stevens added to it with his voice on that one instead I guess.
With the rest of the songs however, I really enjoyed the music and composition.
It’s a particular vibe given the singer/lyric portion
-a lot going on as far as the vocals she gave us, tempo, and style. “Sweet Blindness” was catchy on the hook and I enjoyed, but song was not consistent
-thought it was too long of an album
-I can imagine in the summer, young “fun” girlies enjoying this in their early twenties
Uncomplicated Was very uncomplicated as far as lyrics and chords go……..no other comments
“What happened to you?” is catchy. Percussion was too similar across a lot of tracks in a way. Guitar and bass did not disappoint.
Title track “Smash” was nice. Empowering and what I needed leaving work to go home and smash plates on a Friday. Then it transitioned into a simple, but chant like percussion and chords
“Sybil” Is nothing short of an amazing film, despite some parts being picked apart by developing psychologist, and this album (per searching) was a nod to Sybil and her therapy sessions.
Strong 80s sound, especially “The Working Hour” and “head over heels,” And the synth pop was demonstrated perfectly.
This album produced a lot of pop hits and great music for the movies, obvious one of “everybody wants to rule the world” in a lot of classics I watched growing up. I appreciate the song a little more listening to the album.
I could vibe with this anytime; clubbing, cleaning house, working out, poolside, or documenting at work.
To me, this is an album where each song is independently well produced and enjoyable to listen to, which makes it conclusively..a good ALBUM.
Holding off on my 5 start ratings because I’m stingy, but also because we get a handful of hits but the full album may not “hit.”
Deserves a 5 and earned its way onto the list.
Ending with “listen” as a command for you to put the headphones in, lay in the grass, and listen to the music pulling and pulsing.
Unapologetically, my favorite so far.
“Broken” popped off. Wish I Was rocking the shoulder pads to prom…
The Music itself was nice..
Mama Africa, popped off..beautifully.
When I started studying speech pathology, I had to go down a rabbit hole about music: singing with them will never cease to amaze me. A beautiful album and she’s an icon.
“It isn’t a noise, it’s my language”
Charles Coleman got me
Me in junior high playing my digital piano with the 2-4 notes I added. “The Model” would’ve been one of my better pieces
Janelle Monáe never disappoints with her creativity
Death metal for sure. I can appreciate what they did, but I don’t care to listen to that again
Not bad. Not amazing.
Was good
Was playing on my commute from work and I kept turning it down and zoning out.. as it makes good background music. Nothing that stands out
Ari and Paak were great features because they compliment Jazmines voice/sound so well. Great Tales
