The Velvet Underground & Nico
The Velvet UndergroundI like Sunday morning and many of the tracks have a cool sound, but I just can't bare listening to half of the lyrics.

I could appreciate the psychedelic 60s sounds of this album, and the creativity behind it, but it's not one that I'll be listening to again.
A fun album for the summer with some great hits. I only wish the weather were better whilst I was listening today!
After listening to this album, I've decided that I just have to accept that there are some bands - like Deftones and Sonic Youth - that my slightly older, perhaps slightly cooler friends like, that I just can't get into. For me, although there were one or two tracks or moments in songs that I enjoyed on this album, overall, they just drone on a bit too much for me, and the production, artful though it is, means I can't hear the lyrics. Oh well!
Fantastic musicianship; I really enjoyed this album. I recognized some of the tracks - definitely left me inspired to listen to some of the originals and more blues in general.
Great guitars and drums but the vocals were a bit too shouty for me.
A fair album but I'm not sure why it's on this list - it didn't strike me as particularly noteworthy in any way.
I really enjoyed this album. As a first-time listener, there were no stand out tracks as such, but I loved the overall sound of the album - so cool and so, well, of its time and place! Some of the lyrics perhaps haven't aged well, but the beats and use of sampling were great. Will definitely listen again and explore some more of their music.
Obviously The Doors are an iconic band - I loved their early stuff as a teen, but I didn't know this album (only Riders on the Storm). I liked the bluesy vibe and the band sound really tight, but thinking about Jim Morrison just depresses me so I can't say that I really enjoyed it. If I were doing a road trip around the states (it's so evocative!) I might feel differently, but on my daily commute? Not so much!
By no means bad, but I wasn't crazy about the industrial sounds or the spoken word style vocals after more than a couple of tracks. The lyrics were interesting bit a bit too in-your-face. I wonder what he makes of contemporary culture and politics?!
I enjoyed the instrumental openings - great drums and guitars - but after the vocals began, I kept skipping the tracks! Clearly a great band, but not for me.
I didn't really enjoy the concept behind this album and I'm not a massive fan of Nick Cave's voice but I liked the the duets and a couple of other songs with quite pretty vocal arrangements.
I like 80s synth pop but with perhaps more emphasis on the pop.
Great for when your pottering around on a Sunday morning, though it makes me feel that I should be wearing a long floral dress as I do so!
I love this album. It's one of my favorites so it's hard to listen to objectively, but I think it's musically brilliant and full of yearning, tenderness and depth. My favorite tracks are 15 Step, Nude and Video Tape.
I'm not keen on vibrato voices but otherwise I really enjoyed the album, particularly You are my Sister and Fistful of Love. Great emotion and beautiful music, especially those horns!
It took me a while to find the motivation to listen to this. My dad loves Yes and I can see why, but they're not for me. Sorry dad!
Some great instrumentals but the vocals and lyrics didn't do too much for me.
Fun and full of energy. I love the Madness hits bit a whole album is a bit much!
This was a real mixed bag. Lme of the tracks I had to skip as they were too garagey for me or I didn't like the vocals, but others I quite enjoyed - I like some of the beats and bleeps. Apologies - my language for describing this genre is very limited!

Hipster wedding music?! Love it! ๐ Five Stars for Genius of Love, four for the album as a whole, though I do really like the Under the Boardwalk cover too.
This just reminds me of my dad! It's great rock music, but itโs not for me.
My first thought were, "a concept album, ugh!" but Willie Nelson is obviously a legend and I did enjoy it. Not sure I'd listen too often again, but if I did, I'd want some bourbon whilst doing so! Very atmospheric.
I don't know any of Bowie's albums, only his hits. I really like Sound and Vision so I thought I'd enjoy this album more than I did, though I do also like Always Crashing so maybe I need to give it a few listens.
Paul Weller is the sort of artist you get on Jools Holland's Hootenany. It's decent enough music, but you forget about it come New Year's Day.
I've never likes The Smiths - I can't bear Morrisey's voice, but I did manage to listen to this and could appreciate some of it musically. I'm really not a fan though.
