Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Oct 12 2023

It's Nina Simone, what else can I say?

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers

Actually by Pet Shop Boys

I love It's a Sin. I think I heard it when I was a kid at some point and it's awesome. Instant add to playlist. One More Chance is strange as hell, but I love it. Gives me Beck vibes but very, very 80s. What Have I Done to Deserve this is similarly strange, but oddly clean? Feels like this and One More Chance go together. Dusty does great on the vocals here. Love the social commentary of Shopping and Rent. Both strongly remind me of Supertramp's Crime of the Century album. Both are British, so I suppose that's expected xD Hit Music is strange but also I totally groove with it. Feels like prime 80s Men Without Hats I like the lyrics of It Couldn't Happen Here, but it's too slow and has too much reverb I Want to Wake Up is, unsurprisingly, strange. Feels like All for Leyna but 80s pop Heart: classic 80s dance pop love song. Like it I really like King's Cross. I again am reminded of Supertramp. Feels a LOT like Asylum or School lyrically Overall, I give it a 4/5 because: Album is stylistically consistent I'm a sucker for 80s pop Lyrics are great Misses a star because reverb is over the top at times & words are occasionally hard to hear. Otherwise great!

Instant 5/5. Classic Elton John, and Candle in the Wind & Goodbye Yellow Brick Road are some of his best tracks.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Nov 24 2023

Bridge Over Troubled Water is one of my favorite albums of all time, period. Simon & Garfunkel speak straight to your heart in Bridge Over Troubled Water (the track) - it's got to be one of the greatest songs of the 70s. I don't know what else to say. The Only Living Boy in New York has a special place in my heart since I've heard it for my whole life. My parents played it, The Boxer, and Cecilia all the time when I grew up and I have many fond memories of these tracks. Really, the whole album is extraordinarily well produced. One of the easiest 5/5s of my life.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Jan 11 2024

I really like the sort of disengaged & laid back kind of rhythm. 4/5

1984 by Van Halen

Is This It by The Strokes
Jan 16 2024

Is This It, is, in my opinion, where The Strokes peaked. IMO this album is the epitome of 00s rock and defined their sound for the next decade, until they transformed into their current, more pop-y form. Someday and Last Nite are two of the most important rock tracks of the 00s and I love them. Easy 5/5 for me.

Picture Book by Simply Red
Jan 18 2024

Totally dig this album and this era of pop

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Jan 19 2024

Generally not a super big fan of hip-hop/rap but this is peak Snoop Dogg. 5/5.

S&M by Metallica
Jan 30 2024
Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Feb 01 2024

I really like Fleet Foxes. They have the perfect mix of rock+folk acoustic guitar and neo-folk vocals. Always a sucker for the background vocals. Album as a whole is very musically consistent and I love it. 5/5.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jan 28 2026

My Body is a Cage is awesome. Known it since release from my parents and it's a banger all the way. The power and tone the organ brings speaks directly to your soul. Turn on the speakers and crank it the hell UP Antichrist Television Blues goes hard. Lyrics are great. Not too big a fan of Black Mirror. A bit too monotonic for my taste but the lyrics are great. I've heard Keep the Car Running before, but I couldn't tell you where. I like the acoustic guitar and the bass layering here. Neon Bible is weird. It feels like metal Jack White recorded a Kenny Rogers song. Doesn't fit well with me. Intervention and Black Wave are similarly odd. I feel mixed about Ocean of Noise. I like the detached tone but it still has a similar monotonic feeling to Black Mirror. I can see why people would like it though. The Well and the Lighthouse along with Windowsill are in the same box. I know No Cars Go already. I like it. Ultimately, I just prefer the more active side of Arcade Fire that they show in tracks like this and My Body is a Cage. Overall, good album but I'm giving it a 3/5. There's so much potential I feel that they missed out on going in the direction of My Body is a Cage. For a moment though, we witnessed utter cinema.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Feb 02 2026

Was alright but not a super big fan since I generally don't like this era of grungy rock. 2/5
