She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Oct 16 2023

Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Time After Time are the only two songs I had heard from this album. The opening song Money Chnages Eveyrbting was interesting, I also really liked He’s so Unusual. Her voice and style is unique. Glad to listen to this album.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Oct 17 2023

Obviously several well known singles on this album. I was struck by the cultural references, but in a very different form, of both A Simple Desultory Philippic (what a Dylan imitation) and 7oclock News. A very good folk album, showing the diversity of folk rock.

Oct 18 2023

Favorite song: Grounds for divorce - great opening line, hard hitting guitar. Loved it from first time I heard it. The rest of the album surprised me. The Fix almost sounds like a Bond song. An Audience with the Pope was very memorable.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Oct 19 2023

The White Stripes go acoustic! Favorite songs: as ugly as it seems; Blue Orchid and Little Ghost. The marimba, acoustic guitar are markers. The style is very Jack White, but the acoustic vibe is good Anna welcome change. The range as a musician is insane. Meg is always underrated and her voice on Passive Manipulation was enjoyable.

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Oct 20 2023

Favorite tracks: O Children and Supernaturally I like the genre, this just seems a little too disorienting.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Oct 21 2023

Favorite Songs: Am I Blue; Let the Good Times Roll; Come Rain or Come Shine Big band and strings. The album is a tale of two sides. I prefer the crooning Ray of the second side. His voice shines, the strings complement. First ever listen and a true show of Rays genius.

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
Oct 22 2023

Favorite songs: Holy Wars The album was pretty standard metal. It was good to listen the whole album.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Oct 23 2023

Favorite songs: Heard it Through the Grapevine; Up Around the Bend; Who'll Stop the Rain Some really great CCR tracks, defining them as a top notch rock band.

Queen II by Queen
Oct 24 2023

Favorite Songs: Father to Son; The March of the Black Queen. Candidly this is the first time I listened to this album, and it was good Queen. I feel like I know their more well known songs better.

Oct 25 2023

Favorite songs: Take On Me; The Sun Always Shines on T.V. For an album that largely was the space for a one hit wonder, I did find a few of the other songs worth a listen. As a whole I think the album underwhelms.

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Oct 26 2023

Favorite songs: Aguas de Marco Beautiful voice. Classic sound.

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Oct 27 2023

Favorite tracks: Nice Work if You Can Get It; A Foggy Day; Embraceable You

Harvest by Neil Young
Oct 28 2023

Favorite songs: Heart of Gold; Old Man; The Needle and Damage Done To be honest the two singles stand out. But listening to The Needle and the Damage Done was new to me. Words was a good fitting end to the album.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Oct 30 2023

Favorite songs: Sweet Child O Mine Slash riffs so hard in this song. I don't really think other songs on the album come close. Paradise City maybe. Overall the album is pretty ok.

Oct 31 2023

Favorite Songs: Girlfriend in a Coma; Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me; Paint a Vulgar Picture The last album, really solid music and lyrics.

American Idiot by Green Day
Nov 11 2023

Favorite Songs: boulevard of Broken Dreams; wake me up when September ends Not my favorite Green Day album but two of my favorite songs. Boulevard is one of my favorite running songs. Perfect tempo.

We're Only In It For The Money by The Mothers Of Invention
Nov 12 2023

Favorite songs: none Interesting to listen to from a historic perspective but the concept album is not my thing.

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Nov 13 2023

Favorite Songs: Inertiatic ESP; Drunkship of Lanterns REgrettably I had never heard of this band, what what a solid album. Will definitely give them another look.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Nov 14 2023

Favorite songs: Down in a Hole; Rooster; Would? This album rocks. Guitar riffs abound. Rooster is the best of AIC. Very good album.

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Nov 15 2023

Best songs: Layla; BBB This is an all time album. A true blues experiment. The guitars by Clapton and Allman are next to none. Truly special.

The Bends by Radiohead
Nov 18 2023

Favorite songs: high and Dry; fake plastic trees; bullet proof….I wish Melodic. Understated. Really solid.

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Nov 22 2023

Favorite songs: I'm Going to Spain; Service Interesting band. Felt like a good intro. Not particularly my style, but not as bothersome as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Nov 29 2023

Favorite songs: Rock with you; Don't stop til you get enough; I can't help it This album is everything. It includes great originals, great covers. MJ is smooth and the Quncy's producing is next level.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Nov 30 2023

Favorite Songs: Jesus Walks; Slow Jamz; Through the Wire A great first album.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jan 15 2025

This album had some early stones vibes, but also a new shift. Definitely a late 60s album. Highlights: sympathy for the devil, no expectations.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jan 16 2025

Pump it up and (I don't want to go to) Chelsea are the top songs. I love the new wave feel of this album. Groovy.

Jan 17 2025

Daydreamin is top notch. Great sample. Jill Scott crushes. Lyrically sound. Great hip hop album.
