Dirt
Alice In Chains
Didn’t know Alice and chains was this heavy and never thought of grunge being this heavy but really cool found myself shaking my little ass cheeks a number of times during this album. Notable songs that had me shaking my shit: junkhead, godsmack, hate to feel and would?. My fave songs from the listen interestingly all came from the back half. Im gonna give this a 7.5/10 though I liked it and totally feel the appeal it just didn’t hit that itch for me and reminded me of a time in history with cringe goatees and horny chatrooms. I feel like once you’ve heard one song on here you’ve more of less heard them all.
Would definitely give another listen but not sure if I’d buy a physical copy. Also album cover really grew on me they definitely captured the mood and it looks really cool 😎.

One Nation Under A Groove
Funkadelic
This albums incredible especially when it isn’t being interrupted with betting ads and Home Depot commercials. Those Doo Doo chasers really know how to make a beautiful song and that live version of maggot brain was the best I’ve heard absolutely incredible. Also being coked out in a club in the 70s listening to who says a funk band can’t play rock is now on my time travelling bucket list Eddie tore that up too. This album was fucking way better than dirt I wanna go back and rank dirt lower cause of how much I loved this. Front to back it was beautiful the guitar the bass the keys the vocals literally all great maybe the first couple songs went on a little too long but again if I was coked out in the 70s listening to this I’d think those songs weren’t long enough. I need to get this on vinyl 10/10.
And We need to start calling ourselves the Doo Doo Chasers

Bayou Country
Creedence Clearwater Revival
After first listen:
Just love me some ccr takes me back to the days of sitting by Ethan’s pool getting high and listening to them. They got such a great groove and John’s vocals are always iconic for me, this probably isn’t my favourite album of theirs but I really loved their long jamming on here keep on chooglin was such a cool way to finish the album. I also tend to notice the bass a lot when I listen to them and found myself trying to listen to just the bass guitar a few times during my listen. Album covers hard af makes my tip wet. Giving this a five purely for nostalgic reasons but it also deserves it, it has such a great southern sound loved this album would love to have it on vinyl and would love to be sitting shirtless next to ethan again listening to it
After second listen:
Bayou country is such a fantastic title for this album it’s so mucky and dirty it just sounds like a swamp I love it this REALLY grew on me glad I listened to it again today makes my tip wet

Time Out
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
This jit jump off da porch like it’s a glee episode I’m fuckin with it though it’s a nice rainy day out. I like jazz especially swing idk if this is considered that but it’s cool and cozy though there is that one song that the drummer sounds like a fucking printer breaking or some shit it was brutal. Cool to read up on how this was all about time signatures or some shit hence the name, idk what that means I guess it’s just how fast the players move their fingers or whatever it is they need to do to play their instrument. Sax is easily my favourite instrument and this dude had my tip wet the entire time. But yeah great listen was nice to just turn my brain off and have this as my theme music for the day I loved it.
Think I’m gonna check out more of these cats and more in their “time trilogy”
After listening to this again I can’t find the song where I thought the drummer sounded like a broken printer 🤔 me thinks me was just overstimulated or something anyways wish I had an expensive pair of headphones to listen to this with I bet it sounds like you’re in the room with them.

This is definitely an album I think you gotta sit down and listen too, didn’t really do too much for me while I was out and about commuting or whatever in fact I actually found it hard to focus on it maybe like it was too much going on? but when I was able to sit down and listen to it it was awesome. This definitely had a more rock sound than his other albums and tbh I found it a little long. Fave songs: Gypsy eyes, 1983, house burning, voodoo Chile, all along the watchtower.

The Stranger
Billy Joel
Fun fact my dad proposed to my mom while this album was playing and we have it framed in our basement I might not even exist if it wasn’t for this album. This is just bop after bop for me I loved this. I feel a bit pop vibe when I listen to this, maybe it’s just cause I wanna pop dis pussay for billy. Just the way you are made my tip wet. Vienna is forever a classic. Only the good die young is an anthem and everybody has a dream is gonna be my wet dream for the next next couple nights. This album was extremely fun, dig the album cover too soo deep he’s looking right at the stranger. I can totally see how my dad swindled my 14 year old mother into marriage when he was 27 with this album, yeah Canada has pretty loose laws with the whole age of consent thing or whatever it’s called.
I give this a Strong 3 soft 4

Ocean Rain
Echo And The Bunnymen
Right off the bad looking at the album cover and having never heard of this band I am excited for this listen love when they throw something like this at us. Yeah this is some good new wave shit really love the kinda “airy” sound from the guitar and they use the violin(s?) beautifully to fill space big fan. I think it takes me a while to get into an album cause I always feel like my favourites are on the back half whenever we listen to a new album. My top dogs on here are thorn of crowns, killing moon, seven seas, ocean rain (beautiful) and my number 1 my kingdom it’s a bop that guitar is sick and is going into my new wave playlist 100%. yeah never heard of these guys but they’re a great listen wasn’t blown away by much it was all objectively good except for my kingdom that was a huge stand out. Would most certainly consider getting this on vinyl

Chirping Crickets
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
This shit is 12 songs and 26 minutes? ole looking like an earl sweatshirt tape head ass. Absolutely hysterical that maybe baby is a love song then immediately every song after until the very last song is a heartbreak song, idk what buddy went through but couldn’t have been good. Anyways this was a good vibe the guitar is obviously incredible and the harmonies are great set the mood for walking in the cold around a ton of fallen leafs reminded me of our fallen soldiers 🫡 I’m god dam patriot who will never forget those boys just like buddy wouldve wanted. Anyways listen was short and sweet (would be great listen for the summer) not much complaints I’m just happy I live in a time when earl sweatshirt is keeping the buddy hollys dream alive.

Wildfires is beautiful, bow was great. Black was an interesting song I feel like it wakes up sleeper agents. Eternal is chefs kiss and monsters was fantastic easily my favorite song i added it to my playlist. With this album the songs I liked I really liked but everything in between I didn’t really care for not that it sounded bad it just sounded like it was filling space I think I’ll have to give this another listen to really appreciate it for what it is.

The Offspring
This album covers sick, I actually really enjoyed this more than I thought I would. What happened to you was my top song came too late in the run because i think the album went on a lil long. Self esteem and come out to play remind me of so many early 2000’s movies. But yeah the speed of these really depressing songs really got me. I liked this album way better than the Alice in chains one we listened too. Though wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to this in its entirety again I can see myself listening to a song here or there to get myself amped up to attack the p*lice.

It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
Public Enemy
I’m just past the half way point of this album when I’m writing this but I think I have my rating decided. This sounds like the perfect blend between 80s and 90s wrap and I had no idea flavor flav was from public enemy but what a nice surprise he’s such a good gent I used to love his show on mtv. The rapping is so different than todays and so much more digestible of my little boy ears, just shows how impressive people like earl are when I feel like I gotta decipher his albums and still sometimes don’t know what he’s talking about (ik embarrassing 😔🤘). But yeah beats were cool samples were cool especially a surprise metal sample wasn’t expecting that just wasn’t blown away by anything would much rather listen to 6ix9ine

The Beau Brummels
This feels like a hidden gem in folk music. Loved most of these songs and found his voice complimented the songs perfectly except for the wolf of velvet fortune I really did not like that one. Nine pound hammer was a certified hood classic and the horns and violins on this album made daddy spit up pre skeet. All in all soft 5 hard 4 even harder 3. Would get this on vinyl and force friends to listen while I talk over the whole album.

Wow what an album just sounded like an epic. Just production wise this was incredible well deserving of a HARD 5. This has been on my vinyl bucket list since I watched the ginger baker documentary wanted my first listen of this to be on vinyl but I think this is a fantastic excuse to listen. Wow that was incredible I usually download the album we’re listening to for the day then delete it next day but this one is staying on my phone such an incredible sound I’m sure by now you all know my sexual tensions with horns and what it does to my tip well lemme tell ya this made me not cream my tip but full bust cum jizz skeet piss and shit out my tip I’m talking clean up in aisle Brendan’s pants. The drums on this album are crazy the bass is awesome my favorite song is ye ye de smell but every song is a ten for me the battling drums at the end were an incredible end to an awesome record. I started this on my walk home in the dark and cold and it set the mood for the rest of my night. I cannot wait to listen to this again and again and I cannot wait to get this on vinyl.

This shit got me missing DT racer on the ps2. Yeah this was a great listen sly was my favorite song every instrument on this album felt like it served its purpose and there was no wasted space. I was a big fan of the synth. Vein melter was such an appropriate name for that song I imagine the name is a heroine reference and I can only imagine that heroine is what that song felt like. You already know what I’m gone say about the horn! Anyways

Yeah this was a weird listen I found myself really hating it at moments wishing the album was over then brief moments that I really liked but then back to hating and that would happen on the same songs. The album felt like it was a parody of a genre or something. I was t a big fan but I did really like “don’t” that was a surprise had to turn my headphones down but I think I just loved that it was so different from the rest of the album.

I’ll tell you what. The beats they were cool they were focused and creative some songs had a strong pov that I thought was important. I personally enjoyed URAQT and dash the curry. Personally as interesting as I found the album I didn’t love it the production is (again) cool but at the end of the day didn’t do it for me the B man needs some paper planes I’m SORRY! Fun House
The Stooges
Totally different from the punk I listen to today but real interesting nonetheless I found it rather bluesy at multiple moments. You already know how I feel about those horns on fun house 🤝💦 they made me feel alright. Album covers dope. I do feel like the songs were a little long especially if it’s not really something you’re super into so full disclosure I did have to skip a few seconds every few seconds sometimes. I do like that it feels like the last three songs just lead up to this implosion of the album I can see why this has a cult following. Not sure id get this on vinyl but maybe it’d something cool for the collection and come back to maybe one day and listen to their discography.
