The Köln Concert
Keith JarrettThis was pretty good, overall. Nice as a background sort of thing.

My friend Rachel made a Joey Ramone doll by cutting up one a Ramones t-shirt.
I love this album! My favorite genre of jazz! ❤️❤️❤️
I forgot how many songs from this album got radio play. The jubilant, upbeat melodies belie the bittersweet themes of regret and sad nostalgia. I was never a Springsteen fan, but he sure can craft some poignant lyrics. A big, puffy ❤️ for "Bobby Jean" which I never listened to before. Only one really bum song on the whole album.
Supergrass is completely new to me, but at first glance, I love the cover. This album is so. very. 90's. My favorite track is "Going Out." Probably the most highly produced song on the album, with horns as a bonus feature, it also contains a refreshing key change in the middle.
Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised to see ABBA on the list. "When I Kissed the Teacher" is such a weak opening for an album. "My Love, My Life" - is just so. much. schmaltz.😛 There were several songs I couldn't get all the way through, especially "Happy Hawaii" because the lyrics were so mundane and dumb. I don't have anything against ABBA, but I think with them, you are best off just listening to their greatest hits, a number of which are found in "Arrival." Two stars, because I was so annoyed it was not pure "ABBA Gold".
(Swoon!) Led Zeppelin could play drivel like "Happy Hawaii" and it would be amazing. The call and response between Plant and Page on several tracks is awesome, especially on "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You". The fade out between "Dazed and Confused" and "Your Time is Gonna Come" is fantastic, and harkens back to a time when albums were listened to in their entirety on turntables. There were several points in the album where I thought to myself, "This is not a magical musical moment," and then seconds later, POW!!!! Page drops an amazing riff, and I apologize profusely for ever having doubted. "How Many More Times" isn't their best track here, but it does highlight the strengths of each member, and as the last song, it leaves the Listener wistfully looking forward to more. Because it ended all too soon.
I had no idea how many hits there were on this album. "Let the Good Times Roll" is such a great way to begin an album. Even the tunes I'm not familiar with are pretty solid. "I'm in Touch with Your World" reminds me a lot of Talking Heads from this era. Overall, a good album, but not my thang.
The first track reminded me of Blind Faith or Faces, but maybe it's just his hair. I never heard of this guy before. Not bad for an utterly solo album, but for that, I prefer Paul McCartney.
I listened to a lot of S&G in high school. When I feel the desire to listen to them now, this is not the album I come back to. Not my favorite of theirs, but still good. I totally forgot about "Punky's Dilemma!" Five stars for that song. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ How can you beat the lyrics - "Wish I was an English muffin, Got to make the most out of a toaster."?
This album cover is great! He looks so pleased with himself. Classic blues. Favorite tracks are "I Can't Be Satisfied" and "Crosseyed Cat."
This was not horrible, but I also did not find it especially memorable.
Nice, cheesy cover. This was actually pretty good. I might even listen to it again.
Kind of moody and atmospheric. Not bad
Very girl group 60's kind of vibe, pleasantly infused with early 2000's drum flourishes. Lyrics are a bit darker than old school Motown. It's good, but I don't know if I'll come back to it.
Another great album cover. I expected funky and was not disappointed.
It was ok. I did not hate it, but it's not my thang.
Great album, but one cannot listen to it via streaming. Not sure if I have the vinyl handy to listen to.
I didn't hate it, but I really didn't like it, either.
I didn't realize that had been around since the early 80s. Some catchy tunes here.
I can hear shades of Hendrix and Sly and the Family Stone.
Haven't listened to this in years. It is a fantastic album, and live, to boot!
Reminded me of the Byrds. Really did not enjoy the first track, but the rest was ok. I feel no compelling need to come back to it.
I had not heard of her before, but just looking at the cover, I thought I would like it. I was right.
This was definitely nostalgic for me. Some really good tunes here, and others that are less memorable.
I had forgotten how many covers were on this. When it was released, people were impressed by how many originals were on it.
Not the Tom Waits I was expecting.
Paul McCartney knows how to write songs. Excellent album.
Bossa nova is cool! I didn't listen to it all, but the first half was good
Interesting. Not something I'd feel comfortable listing to with children in the room.
Also interesting, in a completely different way from Suicide. The combo of medieval English troubadour songs with sitar somehow works.
This is one I knew pretty well already. Some good tunes.
A solid 60s psychedelic-folk romp.
This was pretty good, overall. Nice as a background sort of thing.
