Run-D.M.C.
Run-D.M.C.I like Run DMC but the raps and and breakdowns are a bit repetitive.
I like Run DMC but the raps and and breakdowns are a bit repetitive.
Very disjointed but there are some incredible songs on here. Revolution 9 pretty much depicts the fact this album was cobbled together, but it's definitely a worthy choice for 1001.
Good in places but overly repetitive.
This isn't band I often gravitate towards, I like the progression and groove of the tracks but Ian Brown's vocals (in my opinion) are fairly lacklustre and I think the music deserves more emphasis and vocal range at times. That being said, the band does a good job to keep the listener engaged for the full 58 minutes and the finale to I am the Resurrection is a definite standout track. It reminds me of other bands I listen to like the Dandy Warhols, BJM and early Verve.
This album is so much fun. Enthusiastic vocals, witty lyricisms and a groove that makes you want to dance around the office. İts a record that makes you smile.
This started off really well but unfortunately it lost me towards the end of the album. First side is definitely worth a listen though.
İts been a while since I've waited for an album to finish. Just boring and moody.
İt's definitely not the best Verve album but don't expect the others to be in this list. This was their most radio friendly and more britpop sounding with a hint of psychedelia. Love Sonnet and Space and Time.
Not the most entertaining album, it kinda trudges along until we get to İts the end of the world. Then it just trudges along again. The lyricisms are clever and insightful but the music itself isn't very engaging.
Conceptually this album is very good. The album is fun and takes you on a journey with a mix of Spanish and Arabic styles of music along with a progressive bassline that refuses to quit. Some of these tracks are presented very well especially the songs featuring Natacha Atlas. Not a massive fan of Wobble's vocals but it works in some instances, especially the spoken word parts.
This is a very interesting album, in my opinion it doesn't start well but it gets better as it progresses. I appreciate that Radiohead tried something different and the use of electronic sounds and synths is very brave considering the success they had at the time.
Ambient atmospheric kinda forgot it was on. Blended into the background. Better than Mody though.
Fairly middle of road. Wild horses was nice
Probably the best Christmas album I've heard.
Didn't know what to expect from this album. İt was really good, i actually knew some of the songs too and was very surprised i hadn't listened to this artist before. Great ballads, great songs to dance too. This album has balance which is always a pro.
Easy 4. Albeit not all original songs, these tracks are fun and easy to listen to. They are very memorable too, really enjoyed revisiting this one.
I'd like this one, it had a good theme. I detected several bands i listen to that are definitely influenced by this album. Ben Folds and definitely Weezer especially with the opening track. Didn't dislike any song, and the continual theme throughout was very well presented.
This wasn't overly engaging, the songs kinda blended together. But there were some good tracks. Definitely better than Moby.
This album is unrelenting. Its like a motorcycle ride through a post-apocalyptic baron wasteland. Like Mad Max! Yeah that's what i meant. Loved it!
Delightful album. Karen Carpenter has a wonderful voice. İt takes me back to the bio-pic starring Hilary Swank. Good times. Not overly thought provoking just a nice listen.
Yes i did like this when i was 16-19. Revisiting this was tough. I enjoyed some songs but it ran too long and the album is so sharp and piercing to the ears it hurts sometimes. That being said. İt's much better than Moby.
Very good voice but the music was drab at times. Better than Moby though.
This was really different, very experimental and i quite liked it. Between a 3 and a 4 for sure!
This album is conceptually sound. In my opinion, this is definitely not Pink Floyd's best effort. There are some great songs and some instantly forgettable ones. That being said, i enjoyed the listening experience and this is an album I'd be happy to revisit. But I'd probably listen to Animals, Meddle, Piper or Wish you were here instead.
This was good. I've always gravitated more to old school hip hop, everything seems to flow well. I definitely want to listen to it again.
Lovely voice, just not my thing.
This is my childhood album my mum always listened to this and Seaside Rendezvous will always be an absolute jam. With or without Bohemian Rhapsody this album is one of their best. 5
This album is a timeless classic. That being said, there are some tracks that divert my attention. But the opener and closer are pure magic.
I like Run DMC but the raps and and breakdowns are a bit repetitive.
This album felt long, lots of forgettable songs. A couple of really good ones, really liked Black Mud and Never gonna give you up. But it doesn't make up for the rest of the album.
Ten is decent. It has some very good songs, but it also runs the risk of sounding too samey at times. Black is definitely the standout track as it contains so much emotion and really enables Eddie Vedder to show off his vocal prowess.
This a fantastic album, early subtle psychedelia mixed with some hard rock. Maybe a couple of songs vanish in the ether but there are some very memorable tracks too.
Old blue eyes, Mr mafia denier. You sir, are most definitely better than Moby. Its a very nice record, not thought provoking in the slightest but i guess it doesn't have to be. And who doesn't like makin' whoopie.
Say what you want about the reggae rhythm. Bob Marley is a poet, telling wonderful stories.
Best CCR album for me.
Love this its the perfect background music.
I was dreading this one a bit as i used to really like this album growing up. Only by the Night was their turning point where i stopped listening to them. I was in the crowd at Reading where the lead singer lost the plot and told everyone to go f*** themselves. Thats was a very strange night. Anyway İ think the first two albums are probably the best, third was ok too. Aha Shake Heartbreak offers a more intimate look at Kings of Leon after their more rough and grizzled Youth and Young Manhood. They're song craft has improved and that can be seen in songs like Milk, The Bucket and Soft. İt's a nice listen. Moby has got nothing on these guys.
The first Sonic Youth album I bought. After getting into Pavement, These guys were next on my list and i was won over straight away with 100% and Sugar Kane, the progression on these songs just makes you wanna pick up a guitar. This was their mainstream attempt through Geffen records and it was a big FU to the mainstream too as a good third of this album is distorted punk tracks that could make your regular listeners ears bleed. Unlike Moby who is a talentless hack who can't write anything memorable or interesting. This isn't the best Sonic Youth album its song ordering doesn't always makes sense set out like walking over jagged rocks in plimsoles but İ do like it anyway. I dunno how many others will appear in this list. Probably just Daydream Nation but Washing Machine, Evol, Sister and Bad Moon Rising just to name a few should be on this list too.
Good album, I see influences from Bowie, Yes, Talking Heads and DEVO and thats not a bad combination to say the least.
The album was fine and conveyed a strong message but İ think Dylan was still trying to find himself here.
This feels far too long. Some of the songs feel like they don't need to be there. That being said, İ never thought I'd say it but there some ok songs in this and I understand the appeal. Brown Eyes and Dangerously in Love gives Buoyancy a chance to show off her vocal prowess. This album is living proof that DC is definitely better than Moby.
Never really listened to Nick Cave. His voice is an acquired taste but he clearly is intelligent and writes some entertaining stuff so he's got Moby beat. Moby wouldn't know a good a melody even if it hit him in his shiny bald head. Moving on, the album was fine but felt drawn out at times.
This one wasn't for me. I found it quite drab and boring, its good background music. If i had the choice of this or Moby, I'd pick this so thats something I guess.
I can't give something so simple a high rating. As previously stated I'm not a big country guy but this is ok. Another good background album El Paso is the standout.
Bouncy and quite fun. Mr Good bar was disturbing though. Moby sucks!
