1001 Albums Summary

In almost 35 minutes The Temptations lead us into a powerful sound of the late 60s and early 70s in pure funky rock.

Fiona Apple is my favorite American singer-songwriter. I met her with the theme from the TV series The Affair. The rhythm of her arrangements, the intimate lyrics sung by his warm yet powerful and sensual voice made me immediately fell in love with her.

One of the most interesting folk bands, their music suggests a lot the Icelandic panorama swept by the wind and snow, and the electronic arrangements underline their coldness and vastness. But you have to be in the mood to appreciate them. And I don't always have it :)

I really don't like Stevie Wonder :)

Powerful sounds come from QOTSA, one of the bands I reviewed on a little fanzine when I was in my twenties. I hadn't listened to this album for several years, and I must say that it still retains the power of 90s rock.

Not my favourite album by Echo and the Bunnymen, but a milestone in the history of psychedelic rock. One thing I really don't like about this album is the mixing, the sounds are too flat and make the sound too monotonous in the long run.

American rap is not a genre I listen to, but this album on the one hand is a piece of social history linked to the difficult living conditions of black people, BLM before BLM, secondly it is a great album in itself. The sampling and mixing are amazing and energetic.

A transitional album between R&B and hard rock, which inspired many other bands who left their mark. To be listened to while imagining drinking dark beer in a crowded and smoky pub, '70s style

3 stars, just for Born to run

Soft Cell are known essentially for Tainted love, but in my opinion this album is a little gem in the synth pop panorama of the 80s. There are experimental songs both in terms of arrangements and lyrics quite interesting.

Inascoltabile

This is my favorite Maiden album, all the songs have arrangements that combine the solid metal sound (Prowler, Charlotte the Harlot) with dreamy and evocative sounds (Remember tomorrow, Strange World). Moreover, the wonderful voice of Paul Di'Anno is perfect for this album.
