CHICThe Good Times bassline has real estate in my brain. I love CHIC. Powerful disco grooves. Forbidden Lover is a new favorite of mine.

One of those albums with songs I've always heard but never really listened to. Worse than The Beatles.
OG banger
It's okay, it didn't evoke anything out of me and Moby is kinda weird
Probably my favorite record yet. He's a great guitar player and I enjoyed all the supporting instrumentation (cheeky upright bass). The album had a distinct vibe.
Cool sound, wasn't particularly interesting to me. Still enjoyed it. I kept wanting to listen to Nick Drake instead.
This fucks in an 80s type of way
I really respect the album, its history, and what it means, but the music and instrumentation doesn't do that much for me. Just not a country guy. Cash is cool though.
He's the king for a reason
This does nothing for me
She grooves and there's so many classics on here. 4.5 for me easily
Very enjoyable and catchy. I enjoy this music a lot when I'm trying to focus on something. I won 12 games in a row in Tekken while bumping this, so it has to be a certified banger.
James Brown is a legend, I just prefer some of his other recordings
I just don't really like rock like this. Nothing wrong with the music it just ain't it for me.
Love all the sounds across the record, such a radically different rock sound that ever other album so far
s'ok
STEEEEEVIIEEEEE. Probably one of my biggest keybass influences ever
I liked the pacing and sounds a lot. There were some sorta dull moments, but I enjoyed it more on the second listen.
This is probably one of my favorite rock-based records on the list so far. There are so many cool sounds and the mix between English and French is fun. I enjoy the experimental nature of the record.
I loved the strings, horns, vocals, and songwriting
fonky
not into this flavor of beatle
Loved the overall sound
Eh, IDK
My personal favorite era for the Beatles, also a very nostalgic record, and has a sound that made me want to keep playing in bands.
An OG and formative classic. Not much to say other than its another nostalgic album that brings me back to high school summertime.
I liked the diverse sound and quality of the production a lot
Funk genesis
Everyyyybodyyyy wants to rule the worrrrld
I enjoyed the hits, and the production and instrumentation are nice, but the album felt pretty repetitive to me. Didn't really draw me in and I felt bored.
I'm a sucker for the fat and dubby bass tone on this record. The instrumentation, especially for the guitar, drums, and bass were nice. I don't really care for the lyrics but its a nice-sounding record.
Really enjoyed this. Some of the first few songs really hit for me. I love some of the disco-esque guitar tracks, funky basslines, and the overall soul feel. It staled out for me and a couple songs dragged/felt overly 80's, which kept it from a 5 for me.
I dig it. There's a pulse to this throughout, I love all of the percussion and some of the vocal variations throughout. Just has a powerful rhythmic presence.
21 Questions was a high school banger for me. I really like 50's rapping and all of the production.
kinda whatever about this one, didn't really grab me
The sampling felt sharp and clever. There were also some really nice percussive breaks and funky basslines. I enjoyed the detailed and varied sonic texture a lot (organ samples, some great guitar sounds, the punkier vibe on some tracks, etc.). Also the Q-tip feature slaps
New Tito Puente album for me, but have been a big fan of his music since a friend introduced me ~5 years ago. Such an electric energy throughout every song, and I love the presence of the percussion and the sharpness of the horns. Banger
just wasn't feel it
I don't really love this type of music, but the album was fun. I like a lot of the guitar licks, the acoustic sound, and the goofy vocals.
I like The Police, and there are some hits on here, but it didn't really grab me. Very 80's, some cool sounds, but that's about it.
didn't finish it, don't really care for it, cool metal stuff and all but I just don't really care haha. respectful 3
Didn't love it
Loved this, started listening to it when we got Nick Drake's first album. This one is even more polished and expands on his sound. One of my favorite discoveries so far
Pretty solid Common record. Used to listen to it back in the day, and I don't love his style, but its a super well made record
The Good Times bassline has real estate in my brain. I love CHIC. Powerful disco grooves. Forbidden Lover is a new favorite of mine.
banger
Initially found this via the /mu/ boards (lol) when I was ~15 and didn't fully appreciate it. In college, I learned from and listened to the album's bass player, James Jamerson, who has become one of my favorite bassists ever. Just listen to that MFer go -- and he does it all with 1 finger in his right hand. Some of the best basslines on the planet. This album has one of the most consistent senses of groove across it that I've ever listened to. I like the blend of percussion, backup vocals, and strings. Marvin's voice is beautiful. "The Detroit mix"' accents the masterful rhythm section (go check them out if you actually read this). There's so much to enjoy on this album and it's so easy for me to return to over time. It sounds like a party. An all-timer for me. 5/5
Blues records can be hard for me to rate. I really enjoy all of the guitar on this record, and the musicians sound amazing. But after an entire blues record the chord progressions and general direction get a little stale to me. Still an awesome album though.
