Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Feb 27 2024

Not my style of jazz but i thought it was a very pleasant listen. definitely prefer Miles Davis’ more abstract type of jazz such as Some Kind of Blue and Bitches Brew.

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Feb 28 2024

Phenomenal record. Some of the most interesting musical production I have ever heard. I think it might be a little too long but the magnificence of the previous songs make up for it.

Moon Safari by Air
Feb 29 2024

Such a great ambient, atmospheric electronic record. The only electronic music I’ve really vibed with is Daft Punk and this also scratched my itch. It’s not dance house but I loved the layering of multiple instruments as each layer was interesting and soothing. A really great album to chill to.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Mar 01 2024

Such a great record from Neil, easily one of his best. He is more grounded, lowkey, down to earth, whatever you want to say; he took a more personal and intimate approach with these songs and it shows. This album sounds like breakfast with your grandparents, it sounds like cleaning out your parent’s garage, it sounds like the first morning of a camping trip, it sounds like a violent storm outside your window. Every song is a great listen in its own right. Southern Man is a bangerrrrrrrr

xx by The xx
Mar 04 2024

really boring and lack of interesting ideas. sort of feels like a rip off of cigarettes after sex. i enjoyed the atmospheric elements but that’s not enough to keep my interested or wanting to come back. drab indie pop garble-dy-gook

Parachutes by Coldplay
Mar 05 2024

The most quintessential “We have Radiohead at home” album ever. I don’t know who this appeals to. The album is a pleasant bore, nice sounds and production but boring songs. I feel like Coldplay never fit in anywhere; Gorillaz came out with their debut that same year. The White Stripes and The Strokes were about to explode into the scene. Radiohead dropped Ok Computer three years before. It’s no wonder why they sold out so fucking hard. You can hear it in this album. Yellow is not that good of a song btw.

Mar 06 2024

Please, please, please listen to the Breeders or L7 or even Hole’s first album instead. This album is as lazy, derivative, and unimaginative as it gets. The production is horrible as well. She walks on me and gutless are supposed to be ragers and hardcore but the production makes them sound like a mild green day song. These songs are barely songs, no form or structure to them. Do i even have to say who they’re ripping off from on this album?

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Mar 07 2024

Pretty decent jam album! One of the best to do it, I love the slide guitar and the gruff vocals, it’s no wonder this is the band that invented southern rock. Much much more interesting than any other jam bands such as the dead or phish.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Mar 08 2024
Beach Samba by Astrud Gilberto
Mar 14 2024

Very pleasant album but I don’t know why this album is recommended over her debut album in 1965. That album is vastly superior. This album was nice but there were some very iffy song choices such as that parade song. This choice was wack and makes me think whoever complied this list and that book is a big dumb dumb. i mean they recommended coldplay, hole, and ryan adams, which 1001 albums is a lot of albums so i guess you have room to spare. however i don’t think those albums were necessary to hear before i died ://////

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Mar 25 2024

what pearl jam does to a mf. soundgarden goes commercial and you can hear it. at least they have more edge than pearl jam, but then again, a rubber ball does as well. there are some good songs like spoonman but i prefer their rawer sound to this. If i wanted to listen to a big produced rock album from 94, why wouldn’t i listen to morning glory?? at least the Gallaghers make their songs catchy as hell. this is where soundgarden loses me unfortunately.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 28 2024

one of the best album debuts of all time. Do i even have to elaborate? RIP Jimi
