1001 Albums Summary

A little over the top with the stereotype gangster crap. Not entirely my cup of tea.

A powerful blend of jazzy soul that went a little left field at times. A powerful album.

Classic Santana! Such a unique sound and vibe that makes you feel the music as one of kind.

Musically it wasn’t my cup of tea back in the 70’s and it’s still not my thing today. The album itself was a true reflection of the discontent of the day. Most definitely deserves its place in the 1001.

What’s not to like about classic Kate Bush.

Voice is whiny and grated on my nerves. Not a classic in my view

This album is the seed that a multitude of bands have taken inspiration from. I’ve never been a fan of The Who but credit needs to be given when it’s due.

Billy ain’t gonna win any singing competitions. However, his writing is top drawer.

Can’t say I was captivated by this. I’d not listened to Wilco beef, not sure I’ll be rushing back to listen to them again.

I kept waiting in hope that I’d like one of the songs, I’m afraid that never happened. I’d never heard of these guys before and I think that’s for a very good reason.

Probably not everyone’s cup of tea. However, I enjoyed it from start to finish Shane McGowan will be missed.

Not a lot to not like about this album ZZ Top with their own unique style of blues and rock. Most enjoyable.

I feel a smidgen depressed after listening to that. Still I think Leonard Cohen is rather brilliant.

Really cool interesting sound, the vocalist has a wonderful voice. Some tracks really did sound like something out of a spy movie.

Not for me

Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler are superb such a unique sound can only come from them.

Yikes, some very enjoyable tracks, some of it becomes a little too much.

Went into this one a little bit blind. Gotta say I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the rocky funky beat.

Exactly what you’d expect from Prince. Some great stuff, some that grates on my senses.
