Smells like teen spirit/come as you are/something in the way- always slayful.
Loved breed and Polly and stay away-added to liked songs.
Lithium's nice, must've heard it before.
Dad should definitely listen to territorial pissings.
Album has been added to libraryโค๏ธโค๏ธ.
Not a singy album but nice to revise to (was doing Spanish revision).
Masterclass in alternative type rock.
Didn't the kid on the cover sue them later in life, I mean his willy is showing- and wouldn't it count as child pornography?
Any album with 4 songs and it's 41 minutes and 34 seconds long makes me feel uncomfortable.
And album with 15 songs and it's 20 minutes is the dream.
It's okay.
I hated watermelon man.
Chameleon is okay and I can see Haris playing it.
I want to like jazz (I believe this is jazz) but it's just quite difficult tbh.
It slays that he's called Herbie though.
I am a fan...
Ben was obsessed with California dreamin this time last year and I get to why, it's catchy as hell.
I could never be arsed to listen to the rest of the album and I suppose I can say I'm glad I now have.
It hasn't changed my life admittedly, and the album covers confuses me so much.
I do really like straight shooter, I call your name, do you wanna dance and somebody groovy, however they have not been added into liked songs.
The album probs won't go in my library and I won't be too upset if I never have to listen to it again- maybe bar California dreamin just for the feels๐๐
And apparently John had an incestuous relationship with his daughter later on- that's put a dampener on things๐๐
I'd never been arsed to listen to him before but honestly, I'm glad I did, he's not half bad and I kind of understand the hype.
I mean if Lana said he's the king then he must be good.
I enjoyed Tenth avenue freeze out, Night and Backstreets (I loved when he strained his voice in that it sounded really cool- must've hurt though).
Watched the video for born to run- why do they all play so weird, his whole body is literally spasming, feel like he's gonna have a heart attack.
I am a fan though.
Great album.
They remind me of Pink Floyd.
Added to library and will be listening when revising.
Favourite song definitely iron man and the cover art is very cool.
NO WAY THEY'RE FROM BIRMINGHAM AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ozzy Osbourne - cool name.
Thoroughly enjoyed, will be listening again.
Love a bit of hip-hop, however I've never gone back to sort of pre-90s stuff. Of course I've heard a bit, but not in the same way as I listen the 90s amd early 2000s Tupac, Dr. Dre, N.W.A etc.
This is a really interesting album and artist tbh. They start off seeming like your average hip-hop, but you get to raising hell (I believe) and there's power chords and electric guitar?? It's a mix of a rap and rock and then not even to mention the percussion - where has the steal band come from??๐๐
I feel like a lot of hip-hop artists such as run-dmc are really overlooked as 'just another rapper', but I really don't think it's true - they're absolutely accomplished musicians in their own right.
Thoroughly enjoyed, has been added to library and raising hell has been liked. Will be listening again.
Oh, and you be illin is hilarious I love it.
It was okay.
I saw a review that said something like 'it's dripping in American' and that is so true, everything about it is dumb american teen angst.
Having said that, it was decent enough to listen to, i don't hate it but i really don't love it.
I really don't understand 'basket case being the most streamed song because it was honestly quite a boring listen- my favourite by far was 'when I come around'. It had a decent enough tune and was slightly interesting.
The lead singer (Billie i believe- who tf spells 'billy': 'billIE- it's weird american shit again) has such teenage dirtbag vocals, but he can't pull them off because only Brendan B. Brown can pull them off and ONLY when he sings teenage dirtbag. Use of these vocals in any other situation should be severey punished.
Honestly, wouldn't listen again, but it wans't awful.
I didn't like it.
I know she's supposed to be really talented and all this, and I don't doubt it, however...
The actual music was boring, it was plinky plonky phone on-hold music for years and then her voice comes in. Ok- maybe she's talented, but she sat there crooning into the mic, harping on about garbled nonsense. One line really stuck out: 'the shades and shadows undulate in my perception'.
Wtf- queen. Just a moment. Stop us Ng big words that add absolutely zero to the song- I don't understand what the hell she means and I don't think she does either. It's a stupid line trying to make her seem interesting and insightful when really she sounds stupid. The lyrics don't fit together and she wobbles it out in the most rhythmless way. Honestly, really disliked it, it was boring and something I'd be pissed off to listen to in a waiting room or lift.
Also- the hype for criminal??? What is criminal??? It a song with no discernible hook and whenever it feels like it's on the brink of becoming even slightly catchy, she goes back to singing random shit that sounds worse than livewire radio.
To conclude, she may be a talented musician, and I can respect her for that, however, I think her music is rubbish and she should just try a different career at this point.
It was very nice. I enjoyed very much. Perhaps not to listen to on a daily basis but I thought it was a nice bit if background 'comfort music'. I will probably listen again one day. Maybe not in the next couple of years, but one day.
Generally, I'm quite a fan of Frank Sinatra. I definitely prefer his love songs to modern day 'love songs' (mainly seeing as they're not wildly misogynistic and only about using people for their bodies and generally a much less sexually explicit listen). Of course, there was plenty of misogyny back in the day, but at least it wasn't so brazenly flaunted in the top 40.
Overall I'd say it's a 3.5 star although I can only give it 3 stars as I rated Nevermind 4 stars and that would be a wild miscarriage of justice.
Great album. Loved it. Beautiful Dr. Dre production, love snoop dogg, just love love. Love the radio station in the album, think it's hilarious. Murder was the case and Gz and Hustlas have been added to liked songs although that could've been the whole album. 5 stars.
Great album. Didn't realise this is the one had velouria and the thing we're on it and I've loved them both for a long time. Really enjoyed Is she weird and it was added to liked songs.
Mum and dad both love Pixies so I kind of have to aswell but honestly it's no problem because they're a fantastic indie alt rock band and on a random one so nice to fall asleep to. Indie rock is so good to fall asleep to on like a bus because it blocks our everyone around you, gives you something good to listen to but it's also a constant sort of volume and it's just so relaxing I love it.
I enjoyed it.
My favourite song was probably I want you.
I found his voice a little annoying to be honest, and also a little too warbly. I don't know, I understand that the music was good, however, it wasn't really my cup of tea. It was quite good to listen to while doing revision.
I think the main point problem is that I'd listened to doggystyle and bossanova the day before and there was no way it could ever compare.
Point is, I didn't hate it, might listen to it again but I'm not tripping over myself.
Another instrumental album. As much as I would really live to enjoy these but I just find them really boring you know. I don't doubt that the music is fantastically well made and I would probably quite enjoy it in the background at a fancy restaurant. However, it's a no for general listening. Admittedly, I didn't listen to the whole album, and it becomes I nearly feel asleep. I apologise deeply to Bill Evans Trio as I'm probably not a deserving listener of their music.
Loved it! I love the music and I really love his voice. I think it's really interesting and the textures are lovely. I will be adding this to my library and it will get listened even out of revision time. Very impressed. I
should get dad to listen I feel like there's some he'd like because he can be a fan of pop/rock but yeah. Overall, very nice.
It's very of its type but I don't mind it. It's absolutely something Nacnud would listen to, I should definitely show it to him now we're on Qobuz because Spotify didn't have it. Just searched this up, Steve Albini pulled the music from Spotify in 2022 because he was criticising its business practices- slay! But he died in 2024 and it was put back on- sad:(
I may not LOVE their music, but I definitely agree with the political views<3
I like Bazooka Joe, it's funny.
Great album, really enjoyed it, fun to listen to and a nice relaxing background album. Really enjoyed rich, I love the 'let me take you out boy', not to be all #feminismkillallmen that sort of thing but it really feels like female empowerment and stuff it's really cool to listen to. Then I like Maps, it's a slowish romantic sort of song and although in itself it's not a masterpiece, it breaks the album up really nicely. Honestly, it's on Nevermind, Infected, Bossanova sort of level. Gorgeous to fall asleep to on the bus, listen to it all the time now.
It was just so boring. It was the same song over and over, and then in the actual song there was no excitement, it stayed with exactly the same tune, no change in rhythm, and no change in vocals. The texture stayed the same the whole way through the album.
On a side note, I had no idea that he wrote I shot the sheriff (it's still a bad song).
It's good. Easy listen, I love my lips are sealed and the Terry hall background, ended up having a Fun boy Three listen afterwards and it was very nice, it's nice to listen to a sing and really know what it's about. I really like tonight, this town and fading fast, though not enough for any of them to get a like. It was nice easy listening and has been added to the library however.
Unfortunately just not my thing, although I will say (unlike other music from this genre) I did genuinely notice that the songs were different. So yeah I guess it was one of the better instrumental albums, but still just not for me.
Started out so promising.
Love goes on! is a lovely song, unfortunately, everything goes downhill from there.
It's same old same old and quite boring. It's a shame they could only do their thing once, because it was a very good and sweet thing.
It was alright. The thing is, it wasn't bad at all on paper and listening to it, I just didn't enjoy it that much really.
I really like the song black, which did get added to liked songs, but really there wasn't much appeal.
If I was forced to never listen to it again, I wouldn't bat an eyelid to be honest.
(2.5 stars, not as bad as Fiona apple)
I just didn't enjoy it that much. I tend to like that style, but I feel that very often (for all artists in the genre not just R.E.M), the songs just drag on. I like them for a bit and then wish they'd just stop. They'd be a great band if they kept all their songs under 2 minutes 30, but after that I just feel like slitting my wrists.
Pretty good album to be honest. I probably won't listen to it again, however, I liked the vibes. The whole album reminded me of 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised' which is a great 'song'?. It was a generally happy and fun sort of album, not really my cup of tea but also really not a bad listen.
Very much enjoyed, added to library and I'm in live with my car was added to liked songs- it was just such a different and interesting song model. I think i should start listening to more queen because they really were talented song writers. I give it more of a 3.5 stars because I gave nevermind 4 and it's not quite on that level. It will definitely be listened to again and would be a lovely relaxing album for the journey to school.
