The Cars by The Cars
Jun 24 2024

What a great album. Amazing there is probably only 1, maybe 2 songs I don’t know. A+. Crisp harmony. Cool synthesizers. Solid guitar chords. You can put this on at an 80s party or an Alt rock party or banging rock party. Something in there for everyone. Zero weakness

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Jun 25 2024

Great for dinner music or to relax too. Great vibe album if you want some background music with a little bounce. I’ll absolutely put it on in the background but it’s not something I’ll crank in the car.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Jun 26 2024

Not my cup of tea. I think it was probably super unique and new when it was released but it doesn’t move the needle for me. I don’t hate it and won’t turn it off if it’s on and the final song (Silent Night) is a pretty grim reminder of the times. Plus, there are a few well known songs from my youth but it just doesn’t move that much

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Jun 27 2024

Didn’t realize it was such bubblegum pop. I have a lot of love for the Beatles but it’s kind of funny thinking about the older Beatles and the 16 year old pre Beatles fighting in Liverpool and listening to this album list of “I love you” songs. I’m out on this one

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Jun 28 2024

I think for the time period, it was an excellent album. There are a couple of songs I know and I wouldn’t tell you to turn it off but it just doesn’t move my needle these days

Jun 29 2024

Probably not Eminem’s best album but I love it anyways. I know some will find it extremely offense (and it is) but sort of his whole alter ego schtick is how offensive can he possibly be and not get banned and as he says in one of the songs, the worse it gets, the more money he makes. There are some great bangers on this record and some good memories. Bitch Please II, the Way I am, and the Real Slim Shady are all great memories from years ago. Stan is an absolutely brilliant written story song that points the finger at those who think lyrics relate to violence through very personal experiences. Like most of his catalogue, I love the album

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Jun 30 2024

Probably a top 3 favorite album of all time for me. Can pretty much recite every lyric to every song. Every single song is memorable. Money has changed the ability for artists to sample so freely but this entire album is the pinnacle of sampled music. Lyrics are silly and genius. I can remember in 5th grade, standing in the recess line singing Paul Revere with a bunch of kids in the class. It’s one of those anthems that anyone of a certain age will suddenly want to sign a long to. “Did it like this, did it like that. Did it with a whiffle ball bat”. I’ve personally burned through 3 tapes of this song and still get fired up hearing it. I get if I put this on with a bunch of younger kids today, they would be amazed and think it was great. Rest in Peace to Yauch. This album gets 12 stars

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
Jul 01 2024

Would probably give this 3.5. I always thought of them as a one hit wonder but this album was really good start to finish. Definitely worth another listen or two.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jul 02 2024

A little dated for me but good enough that I don’t mind it on in the background. Good lyrics. I’d give it a 2.5 if I could

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Jul 03 2024

This is like Jefferson Starship and the Sponge Monkees had a child. Danced between 1 and 2 stars. Would call it 1.5. It’s just really freaking weird

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Jul 04 2024

Surprisingly enjoyed this album a lot. I find much of Maiden’s work a little too screamy. This was actually the perfect heavy metal album. Still not something I’ll continue to listen too over and over again but I’ll listen again here and there

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Jul 05 2024

Would probably give it 2.5. A couple well known songs that I like but I don’t love it

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jul 06 2024

Burned this one out in college. Every song sticks. Great album

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jul 07 2024

Honestly knew nothing about this group. I think I’ve heard Maps before but it was new. I wouldn’t say this was a lyrically deep album or anything but it was really good. I enjoyed it

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Jul 08 2024

It’s like if you gave a classroom full of boys a bunch of fisher price instruments and a load of sugar and told them to make some noise. Total chaos to my ears

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Aug 03 2024

It’s funny. When I hear some of these songs in a rock mix, I don’t really like them. However, taking the time to putting the album on and listening through, it actually fits together really well. Im pretty shocked I'm giving them 4 stars but I am…

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Aug 04 2024

Pretty cool. Pretty chill. Good for a dinner party

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Aug 07 2024

I have to admit it really isn’t my style. If you love 80s alt rock, it’s probably pretty great. I don’t love the style so I’m out

Private Dancer by Tina Turner
Aug 08 2024

Great album for the mid 80s but it’s pretty dated now. Second part of the album is a little bit mailed in. It’s ok

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
Aug 10 2024

Not the best soul album, country album, blues album or rock album but pretty good for all of those. I surprisingly enjoyed it even though Cartman ruined The Ghetto.

Aug 11 2024

I knew the big hits and thought okay. Well, the album was actually really good. Better than I expected

Arrival by ABBA
Aug 12 2024

Would have been awesome 40 years ago. It’s fun and lots of bounce to it but it’s just really dated for my taste. Not really my jam

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 05 2025

One of my top 10 albums of all time. Brought rap to mainstream. Launched Addidas into popularity. Launched Rick Rubin which led to the Beastie Boys. Created a whole sub genre of rock/rap. If there was 10 stars, I would give it 10

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jul 06 2025

Pretty good classic rock album. Couple elite songs that hold up and a few dated Stones songs. Would give it 3.5 but I’ll round up

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jul 08 2025

A classic that’s great to listen to when you’re in certain moods

Jul 09 2025

One of my favorites of all time. The first half of the album is pure electricity. This is what we took before energy drinks to jump over building and run through metal gates

Jul 10 2025

Not really sure how this made a top 1000 album. It’s listenable enough but it’s hard for me to say this album is anything unique or interesting. Just a bunch of country western Texas trope
