I absolutely do not like The Rolling Stones. I have never liked the Rolling Stones. However, I also had never sat down and listened to this album in total before. Today I did that. I still do not like the Rolling Stones.
To me, it feels like there is a lack of identity here. Had someone played this album for me without telling me what it was, I would not have guessed all these songs were the same band. However, I can't say there were any tracks that I disliked, but I definitely preferred the more synthy/proggy ones.

Quite certain I can't say anything that hasn't already been said about this album. I don't think I've ever listened all the way through until today, and it is remarkable.

In my younger days, my main connection to The Beach Boys was their semi-regular cameos on Full House. Sitting down to listen to this album was a great experience and far exceeds their time with Uncle Jesse.

This is actually my least-listened to WS album, which may be surprising. It's great, but any given time I feel like some WS I'm gonna put on White Blood Cells 99.9% of the time. It's science.

Parts of it felt like background music for 90s Cartoon Network shows, and I mean that as a compliment.
This feels so 90s to me in such a visceral way, it almost makes me melancholy.

I was a teen in the 90s, so for me, the more produced and polished Beck's music became, the less I was interested. That being said, there is enough excellent stuff on this album for me to keep it in rotation.

Like every grunge kid in the 90s, I went through a Doors phase. But I can't say any of this really hits the spot for me anymore. I don't think I will ever listen to this on purpose again.

In the 00s, in the midwest where I grew up, if you listened to Common you were cool as hell. I once knew this white dude with dreads that talked about nothing but Common and consciousness-raising rap. He was actually kind of a douche. I just don't mess with white dudes that regularly join local public rap battles.
Anyway this album was nice.
The first track kind of felt like a tease. It felt like 80s gothy pop synth (which is one of my favorites). Then the rest of the album felt REALLY 70s glam rock (which is one of my least favorites) and I just wasn't into it.
Highlights: Needles in the Camel's Eye
I can't explain why, but this album sounds like a 2010's barista mustachioed hipster channeling Bruce Springsteen.
