Not bad overall, some good tracks (E-pro and girl) but feels a little lost or too experimental in places.
‘You know I don’t speak Spanish, Baxter’
Decent for a live album that’s not a massive stadium recording. Great bass lines, some slightly questionable banter about Girl Scouts.
Actually never listened to this album all the way through, really enjoyed it. Feels very indie film soundtrack
The odd moment but just couldn’t get into this one. Found his voice too dreary
This might be the jolt I finally needed to get into Radiohead. The songs have a good range or style and feel and it holds together really well as an album.
Close to 5 stars for me.
I just couldn’t really get into this one.
Great stuff start to finish, every track stands on its own.
Musically pretty good if a bit predictable but couldn’t decide whether that’s because it preceded other bands of similar genres
I enjoyed the first track the most to en the rest kind of felt like more of the same but not quite as catchy.
How does Bob Marley like his donuts…
From the first fade in it provokes an emotion that’s hard to describe, musically and when you listen deeper into the lyrics.
It just feels timeless. you could only pin turn your lights down low as an 70s/80s song.
Truth is probably 4.5 stars, there’s a couple of slight filler tracks, but very happy to round up!
I wasn’t fussed about this after the first listen but it definitely grew on me more than I was expecting.
I would be interested to compare this to their other albums, it feels a bit less catchy compared to other stuff but still has the same sound.
Really enjoyed this, minus a couple of dud tracks. Some of the songs are so intensely layered they need more than a couple of listens to truly appreciate.
Tempted to give it a 5 just for the name of the first track
Liked the feeling of this as a whole but more as background music. none of the songs are something I would listen to individually.
Not quite sure what this album wants to be. It feels a bit confused and over complicated
Not great. Felt a bit lost through this trying to keep track of the multiple styles in each song
100% 80s
Pretty good first half, second half falls away a bit.
I recognised more of this than I thought I would. Feel like my dad would love it.
I thought the musically it was not bad but found her lyrics a bit disjointed at times.
Some outstanding tracks on this album. The guitar solo alone on since I’ve been loving you is probably worth 5 stars. Some of the later acoustic tracks aren’t at that level though. Probably 3.5 stars but rounded up.
I think they’ll have better albums to come in this list.
Only listened to it once, a couple of good tracks but mostly felt relatively forgettable for me.
Fred durst did it better 😂
In theory I should probably have liked this one but didn’t really grab me.
Still can’t get into his voice, it seems to convey no range of emotion.
Enjoyed this, beneath the layers it’s really tight musically. Enjoyed mansize rooster. And would listen to the album again for sure.
First song was kind of like if The Shins had too much morning coffee.
The second half of the album is better than the first but for me I his rapping style just doesn’t gel with the music well enough to make it catchy or memorable.
Raw at times but with enough melody through it to keep it engaging.
I didn’t find anything in this as particularly memorable, I’m not sure I could pick out an individual track.
Never really listened to a Rolling Stones album before this but really enjoyed it. It has a great blues/rock balance. I bet it was incredible to see them play this live when they were in their prime.
Listen out for the drummer’s signature fill that he seems to use in every breakdown.
Some of the tracks get a little weird but I enjoyed this particularly as ambient listening. Will probably add a couple of tracks to my work playlist
Gets better on 2nd and 3rd listens. Get Free is a nostalgic mtv2 banger but none of the other tracks quite hit that level.
This definitely grows in you the more you listen but the whole album suffers from being too long, I feel like you could actually edit it down to a 45min 4 star album. (Minus all the tracks that seem to only have been included because he came up with an interesting title.)
Chicago is a level above but I would also pick out quite a few tracks in the first half.
Could have saved us a lot of time by putting don’t you want me as track 1!
This was decent listening, nice change of pace to all the 80s albums so far.
Not sure if it’s actually meant tongue in cheek but either way I Enjoyed this one.
Bad fun, THPS 4 anyone?
Oh boy I bet these guys were on some decent LSD when this was released! I enjoyed it but I found the songs to be missing a ‘hook’
Not bad background music with one or two standout tracks. Rest is a bit forgettable.
Too jazzy? A little too jazzy. Couldn’t get into this one.
Big fan of this one, great punch right from the start that holds up all the way through! never listened much to smashing pumpkins before but I feel like this album could have been a template for a lot of my top albums.
