Now we are talking. The album that made my neighbors think that I was scarifying virgins (it was a lot easier to find those back in the 80s) and goats in my house when I was growing up. One of my mom's neighbors actually talked to my parents one afternoon because they were worried about me (I turned out OK, I think). I would blast this almost every day. This is a banger from the beginning 'til the end.

Muse is one of those bands that I really have to be in the mood to listen to, but when I do I really enjoy them. That said I still cannot listen to them for too long, they can get a little monotone after awhile. I just listened to this album I'll be OK for the next year if I don't hear another album. A song here and there sure (I have a few sprinkled in my playlists) but not a whole album. To me the album is a solid 4 when in the mood.

Rumours has been one of my favorite albums since I first heard it back in the early 80s. It is a very well recorded album and I use The Chain to test the staging of a system. The harmonies on the album are great and musically it is tight.

American IV: The Man Comes Around

Hurt is by far my favorite song in this album. You can feel the pain of that the song evokes in Johnny's voice. The rest of the album is OK.

Perfect Day is the only song that I really liked out of the whole album, but I have never been a huge fan of Lou Reed to begin with. Walk on the Wild Side also OK, but in general the album is not for me.

This album has 2 of my favorite M&P songs Monday, Monday and California Dreamin'. The rest of the album is pretty good. I have always been a fan of the layered harmonies that the M&P produced.

Everyone is raving about this album, it is OK. Nice vocals and music, but nothing to extraordinary. One thing I liked is that you can not cage it in just one genre. I'll give it 3 stars because I cannot do 1/2 stars otherwise it would be 3.5. Bad? Absolutely not. Great? Again, absolutely not. Was it enjoyable? Yes. Will I listen again? Most probably yes. Usually I do not fall in love with any album the first time I listen, so it merits a second try and see if I can bump that rating... The jury is still out!
