On The Beach by Neil Young
Jan 02 2025

This was a good first album to hit. I hadn't heard it before, and I liked the laid back, sometimes bluesy sound, even if a couple songs were a bit of a slog to get through. All the "Blues" songs are bangers, See the Sky About to Rain and On the Beach are too slow and meandering.

It's THE metallica album, I've heard it before, of course shit slaps

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Jan 08 2025

I don't know if I really appreciate jazz. Its good background music...

Jan 13 2025

I wanted to like this album, but its just not doing it for me. I've never really listened to Common before, maybe I'll come back to him later, but this album felt like a slog to get through.

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
Jan 16 2025

I thought I liked psychedelic music, and maybe I do, but I couldn't make it through this. I don't know what you have to be on to make this sound good, but being sober wasn't cutting it. A few songs have genuinely enjoyable sections -- sort of a Beatles meets Pink Floyd vibe if I can be overly reductive and basic for a moment -- but most of them are really repetitive with long sections of what sounds like a circus melting and screaming.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Jan 20 2025

This is some really weird shit. Not quite the weirdest I've heard doing this, but it does sometimes sound like someone doing a mean parody of Tom Waits. A few tracks border on unlistenable, but at least it's interesting.
