Ehh, okay. I found it slightly boring tbh. But I enjoyed the odd one. Their harmonies are too repetitive for me generally
I can imagine this would have been great fun live. Thought it started stronger than it finished.
Found myself reading the lyrics a lot which I really enjoyed breaking down. For a long album, it kept my attention which is rare! I’m not sure I’d go back to it frequently but as a piece of art, it stands alone so well
Couldn’t finish, sorry. I just find Bowie so boring and this album was no different 😬😬
I felt the same way listening to this as I did after watching the Foo Fighters set at Glasto in 2023 (I am in no way equating these bands, merely my experience); after a lifetime of not really caring about or enjoying an artist, it finally clicked. Although I will never be their number 1 fan, I finally get why people love it. This album evokes the idea of just being really aggressively human, in a sort of loud, sweaty, shouty kind of way. I really have to ignore some of the questionable lyrics though which can be hard to do. Surprisingly enjoyed it! But recognise its many faults…
I just love this album. Her vocal placement is just incredible and the runs on the title track had me re-listening back-to-back multiple times. It still feels thematically relevant and modern but simultaneously so of-the-time. You can tell it’s an incredibly personal project but it has many moments that capture something emotionally universal.
Stressful. Not for me at all.
I thought I’d enjoy this more than I did - it’s still very good but I found it quite repetitive. 3.5!
What a voice. Listened to the Best Of which is much less of a commitment. Will be adding to my big band playlist. Not necessarily something I would go back to regularly but very much has a place, and I love it.
Some songs were good. Generally not very memorable so can’t say much!
In a specific time and mood, it’s very beautiful. 3.5/5
Stronger beginning than end! But still v fun.
Dull…
Moments I enjoyed but overall I just felt a bit suffocated.
It’s clearly made by some very talented people but I just don’t see myself going back to listen to this ever again. Sorry!
Sorry Nick, not for me. Boring… goes on for too long. There are a couple of tracks I can enjoy but I will never go back to this. 1 extra star for the Harry Potter song.
Good fun! Despite that distinctive sound, it feels relatively modern too I thought.
Pretty samey but some enjoyable moments.
1 star for the obvious tracks that are fun one time around. It’s like a computer had a breakdown.
The skits and sex noises are too much for my sensitive soul. I can’t get past the misogynistic lyrics either.
I actually quite enjoyed this. Vibey.
Nope.
One of my most nostalgic artists. Grew up listening to a lot of VM and this album also has one of “our songs”. So much love here. Will admit there are some other tracks that I find quite claustrophobic? Highs and lows!
I really enjoyed this. Can’t believe I’ve never listened to it before. Reminds me of something we’d have listened to at uni during my musical discovery phase
Goes on a bit doesn’t it. There’s the odd good track but it doesn’t grab me like other Floyd does. If anything, I was bored!
Never heard this before but I loved it. I will absolutely go back to this. From the album cover, the fantastical imagery, just so intriguing all round. I’m always interested to consider where this would have sat when it was released - I don’t have enough musical history knowledge to know - but I know it’s right up my street and the first album that’s engaged me for a while on this run so that’s a winner for me.
Pretty dull… the odd hit.
Very indifferent.
What a throwback. Great album. Not much more to say!
This is such an odd little album. A simple, heartfelt collection of some fun songs and some pretty songs. Lots of covers. It kinda makes me feel like I’m listening to 4 boys recording an album in their garden shed. My highlights were Till There Was You (McCartney’s voice actually shocked me there) and All My Loving. I’ve always enjoyed earlier Beatles than later. And this is no exception.
Iconic. So many great tracks and just the best voice.
Controversial but I’ve never been a huge fan of Respect. But the rest of this album is enough to counteract my unjustified dislike. One of the greatest voices ever.
I love me some Stevie. He is one of my fave vocalists, and this album doesn’t disappoint on that front.
I can see that it’s fun but it’s not my cup of tea.
I enjoyed this more than I expected. Some really nice tracks. Pretty pleasant.
This is so timeless - loved it. Made me feel stuff.
Sorry, this really bored me…
I enjoyed this so much more than I expected to. Not on my radar whatsoever. Such variety in tracks and just production generally. Came back to bump up my rating!
I really enjoyed this! Such a story.
Started stronger than it finished but I enjoyed it more than I expected!
Some of his absolute best. So effortless.
Couple of bangers but overall it’s nothing special…
So epic.
Enjoyable but struggled to stay focused on it.
This album contributed to the influence of so much music I adore and for that I can’t help but love it.
Adore this. Crazy how many hits there is on this one album. Turning Tables, Don’t You Remember, He Won’t Go are faves.
Not necessarily for me but I can appreciate it.
