1001 Albums Summary

1st Album in this 1001 listening experience. Noticing familiar rifts, now knowing where they came from! Seems like a lot of samples from this album used by other artists later.

002.Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones -Felt like I was listening to a Local Rock Group playing the Beer Tent at the Spring Spit-in-your-eye festival. -The RS music that gets played on the Local Rock Station around here sounds more like it was built for Arena Settings vs this Town Hall Dance sound. _would buy if it was <$5 LP

003.Pretzel Logic; Steely Dan -not much has changed in society's attitudes since this was made, unfortunately. -Timely.

1st time listen, should have long ago, but I'm doing it now! It will require more listens for sure! I think it would be a good album to get on LP.

This is one of those must haves for those really early in the morning focus sessions. When the project is due EOD and it's 4:30AM and the coffee is just kicking in...Let the Sharpies & Xactos Fly!

Fun album of my youth! Remember how cutting edge it was back then, listening from a single speaker radios, while doing chores in the Barn.

HUh! I finally a Name/Face of this group! I've enjoy their groove for some time now. -I should run their lyrics thru a translator.. -Does that PBS Milk Street food show use their music? -listened thru YouTube w/ a shitty commercial between each song. Really bummed the groove.

-the epitome of IGA Grocery Store PA Music. -what was going in the 70's that there was so many folk/soul/love songs?? Revival time? _Natural Woman is everyone.

-Definitely a definitive album of my youth. -a SUPER POP album start off! -'State of the World' is still timely. -missed how much I missed singing "Miss you Much"! -pretty sure any time I was in a Pamida department store, at least one song from this album would play overhead...can still smell the potpourri home decor section, apple cinnamon eeww! -Such a 'Clean' album. Crisp Studio produced layers. --Remember tuning in a FM Station on a Walkman and hoping you could get the Tuned LED indicator light to pop. Tuned in! -Baby, Baby, Baby, alright with me... -Escapade! Come on baby let's get away! -Black Cat, you're gonna die! -Come Back to Me, love the vocals.

Love Me some Rufus! Love how he unabashedly sings!

-Okay, this is where that Tune (Green Onions) is from! -This would be a good record for my 'Yakety Sax Organ' genre collection! -Fun version of Twist & Shout ..Feel like I saw a copy of this Album down in my Mom's basement Old Record storage area. May go have a look-see.. -This would be a good Classic to own.

-Welp, in my youth, this would have been played louder than I am now... _ lot of early Self-Care w/ this type of Music..KORN, MM, Smashing Pumpkins, RatM. Boys angry at the World. Hits different now as a older boy angry at the World. Shit doesnt seem to change, just more of the same. -Angel with Scabbed Wings; dig the beat! -Lots of "Anthem" style...what makes an Anthem? --Wikipedia; the word "anthem" is commonly used to describe any celebratory song or composition for a distinct group, as in national anthems. Further, some songs are artistically styled as anthems, whether or not they are used as such, including Marilyn Manson's "Irresponsible Hate Anthem", Silverchair's "Anthem for the Year 2000", and Toto's "Child's Anthem".

-a Definite age-old 'MOOD' album. Works just as well today thou. -Loved that Jams never felt like they went on tooo long. -Influence felt.

Loves me some Bob, or any Bob really. _ i remember i detested any sort of reggae during my college years... not sure what finally flipped the switch for me. but happy to enjoy it now.. _i think it was "Three Little Birds" that i finally caught on to the 'Vibe'. As a hyperactive child (undiagnosed ADHD anyone?) that 'Chill Vibe' was a bit foreign to me...

Lost my notes...basically didnt know that Quiet Riot covered 'Cum on Feel the Noize' and that my high school football team played it at every practice. and for that it has a bitter taste in my mouth (1 star), but 3 stars for the influence.

ON & ON! -LISTEN-Y'ALL-Y'ALL-ITs-SABOTAGE! -...Phones' Ringing, OMG! -aint got no dust! Ma Bell w/ the Ill Communication _there are some solid Jams on this album, thou they get lost in the forest. -Jazz Flute loop! _hate to say it, but some of non-hits seem to be just filler music?

This is my 1st time listening to a full Album of Pixies music (i know, I know, what took me so long?) I'm a fan of their music that made it on several influential Soundtracks (The Crow?)! _But a full album of their 'Sound' is a little much at times and sets off my tinnitus in my ear...I'm too old for this Punk Music..

Okay, so THIS is the Stone Roses! I've heard their music over the public radio once in a while, never an album. Opening Track is a mood-setter, i should read into lyrics..meh Track 3: WaterFall is super Folksy compared to Track 1? -The Spotify Commercial break of DJO (Steve from Stranger Things) is so BASIC! FUCK THAT SUPERPRODUCEDSHITSHOW! _ The Folk Feel on Bye Bye Bad Man...the Lyrics! The 68Riots...Timely. -Reading the Wiki, 1st album was a collection of music ideas, sounds like it. -I am the Resurrection...just kept going on, didnt even realize it.. -Album Closer; Fools Gold could almost be a Beastie Boys Song.

Steely Dan never quite had the sound i like, their sound always puts into that cigarette stained beige corporate cube farm from the 70's. Just Typewriters and Shirt Pocket Protected Pen Holders and Mustaches galore space. and a shitty fluorescent lighting, with stained ceiling tiles...just that icky beige.

This one of the few CD albums that rides in the car, full time.

didnt get past the first 30 seconds. sorry, too much to concentrate on w/o punk rock sledgehammering my brain. I'm giving it 5 stars, because as Punk goes, this magnificently worked instantly as an repulsive agent.
