Rating: 5/5 | Favorite Track: Black Math

One of my favorite albums from the garage rock revival movement and an album that really got me into music to begin with. This is such a fantastic blend of garage, punk, and blues.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: Today
---
Even though I'm not too into 90's grunge and similar alt rock, this is still a really solid album.
Rating: 5/5 | Favorite Track: Take It or Leave It
---
One of my all time favorite albums, pretty much as close to perfect as an album can be in my opinion. The best example of the 2000's garage rock revival.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: Just
---
I much prefer Radiohead's art rock albums that come later, but this still a very solid alt rock sound.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Without You
---
This is my first introduction to Harry Nilsson, and I was pleasantly surprised with this album. Fairly standard classic rock sound and altogether pleasant listen.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Bring Da Ruckus
---
Admittedly, I am not well-versed in hip-hop, and I know I will reevaluate this album eventually. However, for now, it really isn't my thing.
Rating: 2/5 | Favorite Track: Just One Fix
---
I tend to find a lot of metal music boring and only like a handful of industrial tracks. Combining the two results in an album I just don't care for. I also just generally dislike music wrapped in a shock/Edgy™ aesthetic.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: L.A. Woman
---
I love the psychedelic tracks from the Doors, not so much the blues rock. Not a bad album, but not one I will return to often.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: I Should've Known
---
Inoffensive, but a little forgettable. Most of the songs really blend together in a bit of a bland way. It's a fine album, but not for me.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Friend of the Devil
---
Totally bored by this release. All of the tracks blended together into this bland, homogeneous, generic country sound I did not care for.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Night By Night
---
Eh, it’s fine. None of the tracks really stood out to me with the sole of exception of the funk rock of Night By Night. I just get quite bored by this safe sounding jazz rock and blues rock.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Born to Run
---
Not big on heartland rock but I have a lot of respect for Bruce Springsteen as a songwriter, especially with his incorporation of progressive politics into his music. I probably won't listen to this album too often, but the title track is a classic.

This was my introduction to Manic Street Preachers and I did not expect to like this album as much as I did. Political alternative rock with a nihilistic, dark post-punk edge. An excellent listen even with the challenging content matter pervasive throughout.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Family Entertainment
---
The Undertones are a fantastic classic punk band, but I prefer their singles like "Teenage Kicks" and "You've Got My Number (Why Don't You Use It!)". The first side of this album is really fun pop punk, but the second side really starts to drag. I want this to be a 4/5 album, but it doesn't quite make it.
Rating: 5/5 | Favorite Track: Exit Music (For a Film)
---
One of my favorite albums of all time. Cold, atmospheric, and explores themes of alienation and loneliness that still resonate today. What can praise can I give for this album that hasn't been said before?
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Life's What You Make It
---
I found most of this album quite boring – I am no way a big fan of the "sophisti-pop" side of new wave. There were a few tracks I didn't mind, but on the whole this album feels forgettable.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Camping Next to Water
---
A couple of pretty good songs in a pretty forgettable album. I found this album to be far too long and lacked a lot of forward momentum making listening to this to be a dull experience. Overall, it's just fine.
Rating: 2.5/5 | Favorite Track: Heaps of Sheeps
---
Usually I am a fan of more artsy, experimental albums, but this came across as a little too pretentious, even for me. I did not care for Wyatt's off-key singing, and when the backing instrumentation wasn't being purposefully off-putting, it was simply boring. My love for Brian Eno couldn't even save this album for me.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: A Day At the Races
---
This is such a fun album with smart lyrics throughout. The second half of the album isn’t as consistently amazing as the first half, but that won’t stop me from returning to this album in the future.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Papa Was a Rolling Stone
---
Papa Was a Rolling Stone is such a perfect song, I just wish the rest of the album held up as well. It wasn’t a bad listen, just a little forgettable at times.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: It's Like That
---
Not bad, but definitely my preferred style of hip-hop/rap. Still a pretty enjoyable listen and a very influential album.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Rocks Off
---
This project is certainly making me realize that I do not like roots rock whatsoever. There is almost nothing on this album that grabs my attention.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Live Fast Die Young
---
Not my favorite hardcore album but I respect the breakneck speed at which the band performs this record. Each track feels like an attempt to be faster and more aggressively in-your-face than the last. A fun listen!
Rating: 4.5/5 | Favorite Track: The Dreaming
---
I adore this album. I love Kate Bush's art pop take on gothic music – it's weird and surreal and quirky in all the best ways.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Stay
---
Bland, a tad forgettable, but totally inoffensive. I did find a few of the tracks to be pleasant, but I don't anticipate returning to this album any time soon.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: Hiding All Away
---
I love Nick Cave's poetic lyricism and the dark, ominous atmosphere present in many tracks throughout the album. I wish it was just a little more consistent, particularly in the second half. Overall though, a really solid album!
Rating: 2/5 | Favorite Track: Beautiful
---
Admittedly, this album is not made for me. I found it to be bland and got nothing out of this.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: Bennie and The Jets
---
This album is so much fun. The only small critique holding this back from a 4.5 or a 5 star album is just withing the album was a little shorter to cut out a few of the tracks that don't hold up as well.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Say No Go
---
I really liked this album and there quite a few outstanding tracks. There are a few songs however that keep me from giving this a 4 star rating; I just wish the trackless was a bit tighter. Still a good listen!
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: Zombie
---
This was my first time taking the time to listen to this album and honestly this was such a fun and enjoyable listen. As a big fan of the Eno-produced Talking Heads albums, it was great to finally dive into what is arguably that era's most important influence.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Kick Out the Jams (Live)
---
Ramblin' Rose and Kick Out the Jams are both great songs, but the rest of the album is a little too noisy and unfocused for me to really love. There are better proto-punk albums and much better live albums than this.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: My Mind Spray
---
This was an okay listen with a couple of standout tracks, but overall this album didn't really do anything for me.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: Supermassive Black Hole
---
This album is just pure fun and energetic alternative rock. I love the sci-fi theme that permeates the tracklist. Great listen!
Rating: 4.5/5 | Favorite Track: Hey You
---
I adore this album so much. It was one of the first records I ever bought, and even if I don't think this is Pink Floyd's best album, I still think it is an almost perfect album.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Penguin Cafe Single
---
I can understand the appeal as this album can be both whimsically quirks and eerily strange. I can definitely appreciate the musicality. However as a whole, this album isn't for me and didn't hold my attention throughout.
Rating: 3.5\5 | Favorite Track: Back To Black
---
First time actually listening to Amy Winehouse and I did have quite a lot of fun with this album. I didn't absolutely love it, but there were a few standout tracks that blew me away with the production quality, layers of sound, and excellent vocal performance.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: We Are Family
---
This is such a fun listen! A bright, warm disco album with great vocals and lush instrumentation. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Honky Tonk Heroes
---
I normally really dislike country music but, honestly, this album provided a pretty decent listening experience.
Rating: 1/5 | Favorite Track: Red Alert
---
I found this album to be obnoxious and almost unlistenable. It sounded like the shitty music you'd hear at a college frat party. Will never listen to any of these tracks again.
Rating: 4.5/5 | Favorite Track: Sir Duke
---
A nearly perfect album – I'm upset with myself that I waited until this point in my life to listen to this. I adore the warmth and the optimism of this album; it's simply fun to listen to.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: The Message
---
The title track is iconic and a perfect track if there ever was one and there are other tracks on this I really quite enjoyed. On the whole though the album had consistency issues bringing the listening experience down a little. Still solid and influential record though.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: The One I Love
---
I really enjoyed this album and really appreciate REM as a band. This is by no means a perfect album but It's the End of the World As We Know It and The One I Love really elevate this to an essential listen.
Rating: 4.5/5 | Favorite Track: Wouldn't It Be Nice
---
Obviously this is an icon and influential album and popular music wouldn't be the same without it. I don't love it nearly as much as others, but still a great album.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Molly's Cambers
---
A decent album; I enjoyed the handful of garage rock songs more than the southern rock and blues rock. Unfortunately this sound is done better by other artists from the same era (most obviously The White Stripes) so I have less motivation to revisit this album.
Rating: 5/5 | Favorite Track: Spellbound
---
I absolutely adore this album; it is arguably the greatest goth album ever made. A darkly atmosphere and macabre listen with swirling psychedelic sounds, brilliant guitar and drum work, and a stellar vocal performance. There is nothing about this album that I do not love.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Firestarter
---
Enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would. There are certainly some excellent standout tracks, but the album gets a little too repetitive for me to rate this any higher.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: Supersonic
---
This was my first real introduction to Britpop and found myself quite pleasantly surprised with this album. I will definitely have to explore more from this genre.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Only Tomorrow
---
This album was okay, but a little to one-note for my lacking. The first half was a bit of a slog, but the second half did make up for it with more energy. Not likely to return to this album.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: If I Should Die Tonight
---
Marvin Gaye is by far one of the greatest musicians of all time. While I don't love this album nearly as much as What's Going On, this is still a lovely listen with Gaye's excellent vocal performance and lush instrumental arrangements.
Rating: 4/5 | Favorite Track: "Heroes"
---
I want so badly to rate this higher -- the title track is by far my favorite song of all time -- but I don't like the more electronic ambient side of this album as much as the album before this, Low. Still, the front half is amazing.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Pictures On My Wall
---
Not my favorite Echo and the Bunnymen album, but still has some good early goth tracks. Pretty decent debut album.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Blockhead
---
This album is just barely a 3 star album for me. I don't care for Ian Dury's vocal performance nor his sense of humor in his lyricism (finding several tracks to be a bit tasteless). There are much better punk and new wave albums than this.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Tainted Love
---
There are a few great standout tracks with a darker, more minimal sound than other synthpop songs from the era. Wish the entire album was as consistently good as Tainted Love or Sex Dwarf, but still a fun listen.
Rating: 3.5/5 | Favorite Track: Just Like Honey
---
There were a few tracks from this that o really enjoyed and I honestly thought I would like this album a lot more considering my love for the post-punk of this era. But this was a little too noisy for my liking -- maybe upon revisiting this album later might I rate this higher.
Rating: 3/5 | Favorite Track: Sad Song
---
Lou Reed is a great musician; Transformer is amazing and Rock 'n' Roll Animal is one of my favorite live albums. But I didn't find myself connecting with this album and found it to be a bit too much of a downer to really enjoy.
