Josh- I like the opening so far! I feel like I knew some songs from this album tho.
"Someday" is easily the best track, but am also a fan of "Hard To Explain"
I love how hard the closer goes "Take it Or Leave it". I can see how influential this album is to the modern alt-rock scene. They're the prototype to Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and such. Will definitely revisit the album. Fitting for a first album -- New York band to go with Zohran winning. 3.5/5
Phoebe - Someday and Last Nite are the songs I knew and already loved, so they were still the standout songs for me. I love this classic fun indie rock sound sm, very easy listening for doing work or dancing alone in your room. 3.5/5
I had to listen through this twice because of how quickly the 43 minutes go.
"Morning Bell/Amnesiac" is the stand out for me, but really this whole album just makes me sad. It's raining today too, I'm haunted by the greyness, I feel like the little dude on the album.
Pulk / Pull Revolving Doors - is such a trippy atmosphere. I definitely get the vibe that this is the B sides to Kid A. I do enjoy Kid A more, but both leave me feeling equally grey... Or feel like I should be sitting in the middle of a padded room, looking at the pulsing nature of the waves... idk LOL 6.5/10.
Only 7 songs! First song is pretty funky! Like it so far kinda boring by the end and samey.
Can see how this paved the way for a lot of music like this, but man did I have to start and stop so much
What a fun ride! Psychedelic rock slaps? Medieval psychedelic rock? Banger! I may like this album more than abbey road…
Slow train to dawn is my fave. I love the synths and vibe. Very dark and mysterious. Digging it so far. Unfortunately got into an argument while PJ was listening to it and she was too tired to enjoy the rest of the album
Pre Thoughts: I LOVE GIL SCOT HERON. I'm excited.
1st Track : peace go with ya brother. Man what an atmosphere. I love the mood this album and just this era of Jazz puts me in.
It's a state of political disillusionment and unease regarding the WaterGate scandal and just the fall out of Vietnam and the cold war.
America!
The international Jekyll and Hyde
The land of a thousand disguises
Sneaks up on you but rarely surprises
Can't you see it? Can't you feel it in your heart?
Love it. Banger, wish it was still on Spotify and I didn't need to bootleg it.
Want the Vinyl
Omg I love this album. Back to back bangers. The pre cursor to FredAgain’s ambient sound.
Banger quintessential RHCP. Front to Back Bangers, and will listen to this again and again.
I love RHCP, lyrics be damned
Gotta do something about these cookies.
We’ve been eating good! Pure heroine is better. But this still bangs, i love homemade dynamite even though its the single.
Shout out hot ones legend lorde
Wtf is this opening, what in the Russian polka. This is Halloween ahh opening.
Oh the whole album is like this.
I like it, probably wouldn’t revisit but it’s good fun. Give my Umbrella to the rain dogs.
9th and Hennepin is my favourite so far
Gun street girl also bangs
It’s like jazz folk raspy country, I like it.
Dixie drug store is good fun.
It’s contemplative and smoky is how I’d describe it. The bass guitar is a weapon in this album. I also love his voice and cadence
I think I like self titled more.
But same XX, but a little more energy, which truth be told I don’t like as much LMAO.
“performance” is so good though
Strong opening, I like what is and never should be and how slow and pensive it is.
I’ve always been a zepp fan, but I’ve never really sat through the old albums and just listened to greatest hits. Fake fan I guess, but colour me a real fan now.
It's also quick and not overbloated. Quick and gets to the pointed. There's a reason why Jack Black calls them the GOAT
God the energy and build up to Bring it On Home to Me, is absolutely insane.
Since it’s a live recording I can feel the energy dripping from this record. It’s electric, and full of soul.. wonderful
This one was kinda weird and funky but in a good way. I loved the struggle pieces but the second track was odd
It was only ok, I got about halfway through before getting bored
I didn’t like this very much. It was sonically interesting but jarring and unpleasant, but I can see the artistry.. EDITING this down to a 2 unfortunately, because revisiting it in my brain, I just didn't mesh with the sound
One of the whiniest that Morrissey had ever been; but hey here we are still undeniably a goat album. A light that never goes out, will go down in history as a favourite of mine pretty much forever. It's better than the cow album
As someone that’s only heard love will tear us apart, excited to dive into this.
Hm ok I’ve pieced it together, the vocals are odd and guitar is discordant and that’s the point, the lead isn’t enjoyable but the riffs and the drums are bangers
2.5-3
It was completely fine dad rock completely ignorable and didn’t really stand out
Unsure why my review didn't save for this.
Unfortunately it wasn't on spotify any more. Listening through youtube.
But it was odd.
Oh I love this album!!! 70s FUNK hell yaaaa
Gonna get funked up.
It was a funky Monday.
Handcuffs is kinda weird tho
Banger! I loved at last I am free! Gripe is it’s a little samey but I love the vibe
I did not expect this kind of music from this title LOL. Also what this second track is… something
Ohhh I see. It’s black American revolution rock! I dig it!
Very unique sound, very few times do I hear bands for the first time! They bang
Great! Definitely deserves to be here as it embodies that grunge rock era. I’ll definitely come back to listen and EvenFlow is a forever favourite
My opinion on the beastie boys remains the same, the sound is fine. The rapping just is not for me, I get it pioneers of white rap, but like what does that mean?
This is a perfect candidate for 3.5. It just felt generic low indie chill house music. I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. I probably wouldn't listen to it again unfortunately. But it was nice easy listening. Somewhere between the eagles and Weezer put together.
Signourey Weaver is my favourite song. And Don't get me wrong I enjoyed this album!
WHAM!
One of those things where I've always said that I'm a George Michael Fan but never actually listened to a full album, so this is so far so good.
The first song is very George Michael. And obviously Freedom I already knew. Amazing vocals all around..
I think "waiting for that day" is my favourite track
Help the poooor.. won't you help pooor mee.
I love BB king and I love soul and swing. This is an easy 5 and I've been listening to it front and back for atleast 2 hours now.
YO LETS FUCKING GO Instant 5 INSTANT CLASSIC RRRAAAH
All the singles are bangers
But I actually love endless nameless
Mid-generic brit pop rock. kinda just frustrated me LMAO
The girl from ipanema is on this album. A bossa nova classic 5 stars
Who’s on first?
Great live album, again I’m just not the biggest Brit rock guy
Unchained melody is the song I know and probably my favourite.
A good easy listening vibe; plus I love Willie Nelson’s voice
Goodness! What a strong 5 star record.
"You make me feel" "chain melody"
Aretha is a pioneer and a goat... Not much else to say and I don't need to wax poetic.
It’s the dark side of the moon… cmon
Love purple haze!
Great album, Hendrix makes the guitar cry and is a legend for a reason
I love this album, I remember hearing parts of it growing up. The precursor to laufey or this generation’s Corinne Bailey Ray.
Solid 5, puts me in a great mood
Idk where my notes go but u liked this album great for tripping or meditating
Idk where my notes go but u liked this album great for tripping or meditating
Idk where my notes go but u liked this album great for tripping or meditating
Idk where my notes go but u liked this album great for tripping or meditating
It was alright dad Brit rock, but I can tell why they’re not as popular
White man blues is still a bangwr
Fight the power! NWA pre NWA. Solid precursor to revolutionary black hip hop
Morrissey still whiny af the queen is dead is probably a better album
Fight the power! NWA pre NWA. Solid precursor to revolutionary black hip hop
I realize I don’t actually like James brown as much as like Sam Cooke. But I can see he’s a legend
A lot of people don’t know about this album, but it’s a very soulful less energetic sabbath. Changes is an all timer, Ozzie’s pain on that track is chefs kiss
