Creedence Clearwater RevivalClassic southern rock. Considering the only other CCR album I’ve listened to was Mardi Gras, this is a sure step up. Some undeniable classics and some straight rockers.

One of the best Alternative Rock albums of all time. Post-Britpop wouldn’t get any better. Coldplay began their takeover of world’s biggest band from U2 with Parachutes. Rush of Blood proved it wasn’t a fluke.
This album does not deserve to be 2 hours long. It’s a monumental task to listen to this album. There’s definitely some bloat. But at the same time, it has some of the best alternative rock of the 90’s.
Led Zeppelin came roaring out the gates. On paper, it doesn’t sound like the band should work. A veteran guitarist looking to continue the legacy of his previous band, a well-known session bassist looking to break out, a 20 something runaway, and a self taught drummer who was recommended by the 20 something runaway. But by god did it work. It’s hard to rate this album knowing just the heights the band would reach later in their career, but it’s still an incredible rock album.
Probably incredible impressive for the time. Unfortunately now, it just treads the same ground as a lot of other hard rock albums. I feel as if I’ve heard all of this before.
The things they’re able to do with samples is simply stunning.
It’s fine. Sometimes annoying, sometimes repetitive. I bet that’s what’s intended though.
Classic garage rock revival, not their best but still really good
Inoffensive psych-rock. Nothing more, nothing less. Some cool ideas, but something standout.
I can understand why someone would like this album. I unfortunately don’t. There’s normally too much going on and songs go on for way too long. Multiple ideas are explored in a song, which just rubs me the wrong way. I like if a song has varying ideas, but to have a minute long break in between them, and to have almost every song do that? Bro, just break it into two songs.
Holy shit this is so boring. Every song sounds like the last one. The vocals, the instruments, the production, it’s all the same. It’s even worse since the songs themselves have no interesting ideas.
Having only listened to the Queen’s greatest hits cds, I lacked the idea that Queen was a capitol B Band, and not just Freddie Mercury and the gang. The ideas spread across these 40 minutes can only be achieved be the varied writing style of the four of them. Killer Queen is the big hit of this album, and for good reason. But the other songs on here deserve as much respect. The three-peat of Tenement Funster-Flick of the Wrist-Lily of the Valley is so well produced and cohesive that I failed to realize it was three separate songs at first. The absolutely blast that is Stone Cold Crazy, the slower songs like Dear Friends. Hell there’s even like a reprise or a reimagining of a song that came 5 songs before. And it works! God I have been missing out on Queen albums.
Me and my friends once said Queen was more of a singles band. We were so extremely wrong.
It’s pretty good rock influenced folk, not many stand out moments other than the opening track though
Dawg am I a Moby fan now
A refinement of their sound they made on Check Your Head rather than a reinvention, probably their best post Boutique album.
boring, hard to distinguish one song from the other. Specific moments and songs are quite good, but do little to bring up the rest of the album.
dang, how have i never heard of these guys before. this is legit some pretty good proto-shoegaze and all that. I can see the influence that these guys had on a lot of music going forward.
While not their best (admittedly not saying much considering their best), this is excellent collection of folk tunes. A continual refinement of their sound that they would come to perfect on later albums.
It’s good. Probably won’t listen again though.
And just like that, a new genre was created. Legendary.
Omg who cares, I did not enjoy this album. I don’t like the militaristic sounds, and I don’t like the production.
