Female-led rock band. Cohesive, edgy, stylish, and sounds amazing. Would listen again and check out their other music. 9/10
Art rock. I didn’t even know Bowie made albums this late. It’s okay but idk it’s boring and doesn’t feel cohesive. I’m not sure why it’s on the list. Wouldn’t listen again. 4/10.
Hip-hop! I like the beats but not crazy about the lyrics (except good kid, madd city and sing about me i’m dying of thirst) and felt the themes were cheapened by the usual flexing and misogyny you see in lots of music. It did feel very cohesive and I liked the sound overall but lyrically not for me and wouldn't to the whole album listen again. 7/10
Classic rock, not my thing genre-wise and wouldn’t listen to it again (esp that fucking organ/piano or whatever it is in every song it was so annoying. Light my fire is THE WORST because of this) but the lyrics were solid (besides calling women little girls in every song)…also it sounds like early Pink Floyd which ig makes sense. At least it was short. 5/10
I don't like indie rock sorry
look i appreciate the impact but i dont like any of the lyrics or melodies except the melody of the last song
it was a fun listen, glad to get 90s music and a female artist!!! Wouldnt listen again but like the voice and instrumentals 6/10
I liked this better than the Elvis album! Really repetitive song styles and lyrics but that might just be a thing of all 50s music. Had a nice time listening. 6/10
loved sympathy for the devil, perfect opening song. No expectations is also great. I was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed the instrumentals and melodies. However i feel the rest of the songs are pretty weak. Stray cat blues has the rock and roll i am looking for but its about fucking a homeless 15 year old. Ending felt abrupt. 5/10
such a lovely album!!!! I liked every song!!! 8/10
really smooth and pleasing sound and great lyrics! Had a good time listening! 7/10
I was sad to get another 70s rock album but this was prog rock, which I’ve only listened to from Pink Floyd before. Some really cool instrumentals and vibes!!! It was mostly a fun listen. 6.5/10
Recognized Smoke on the Water…at least the first chords lol. Dad rock that at least wasnt offensive to my ears. 6.5/10
so pleasant and clear!!! 8/10
ban british people from rapping oh my god why is this on the list 3.5/10
I expected a heavier sound! I don’t really care for the vocals or lyrics but there’s definitely more interesting guitar riffs here than I’ve heard from most of the 70s rock on this list. 5/10
Dreams and The Chain are definitely my favorite songs from the album. I really like the instrumentals of this album and it all sounds beautifully cohesive, but I’d only listen to about half of these songs again. Still hard to give it anything below a low 7/10.
I liked this a lot more than Vol. 4, mostly because the guitar riffs are so good! The lyrics feel pretty shallow and like they’re trying on purpose to be as edgy as possible but this was early hard rock so. But yeah better melodies and instrumentals. I wouldn’t mind hearing the majority of the songs again. 6.75/10
It was a pretty good listen but nothing special. 6/10.
reminded me so much of MCR! Surprised me because i’ve only heard creep before. You can hear how influential they have been to bands that came after. I listened to it in the car and was like man i cant understand a single word. Let me listen with headphones when i get home. That didn’t help at all and had to read the lyrics for every song regardless, which sadly reminds me of indie rock. I think the abstract lyrics work for some songs but others it makes them sound unfocused. The only songs i’d listen to again are climbing up the walls, no surprises and lucky. I did like the instrumentals for each song though. 6.5/10
absolutely deserves a place on this list, even though I think the album is better presented in the film format. Masterful narrative, use of metaphor, interplay between roger and davids voices, songwriting and instrumentals. There’s a build-up, climax, falling action, repeated motifs…I don’t know what more people want from this album honestly. 10/10.
a deeper voice than I expected! sweet love is a good song but this just isnt my type of music .. 5/10
the songwriting isnt even bad its just abt stuff i absolutely do not care about and i just am not a fan of the overall sound idk 4/10
RAM TRUCK MONTH was the only song i recognized, didn’t know it was by them. Besides that it was really boring 4.5/10
it was pretty good! I like his voice a lot and great instrumentals. 7/10
i was really wanting to listen to some 80s pop but nothing on this album hits like take on me, and the lyrics are really repetitive. 5/10
ok so I had never HEARD of boston but when i put on the album i recognized more than a feeling. 7/10 good stuff
i was really pleasantly surprised by this album! I think it's too long; the only song I liked as much as the first half's songs was Easy Money. But great lyrics and instrumentals, very cohesive and stylistic without indie rock bullshit. 7.5/10
Really good guitar and the sound is overall nice. But generic lyrics and one very misogynist song. 6/10
recognized “all right”. I just really dislike this style of music. 4.5/10
i thought I hadn't heard this artist before, but my mom has Relax in her playlist! I've heard Born to Run as well. Reminded me a lot of David Bowie. Glad to hear shootouts to Malcolm X and Che. It was a fun listen but I would only listen to Relax again. 6/10
so many bangers and classics in one album!!! the ones that aren't singles though were pretty boring to me. 7/10
The lyrics were pretty good, and I appreciate the subject matter, but I didn’t think the instrumentals were that catchy or the songs the most enjoyable to listen to. 5/10
this sounded like a 3 hour improv jam session and it wasnt good 3/10
i appreciate the songwriting but its so boring to listen to 4/10
i haven't listened to much electronic music. The first song was fun to drive along to but the rest left me unsatisfied. 4/10
Interesting! It felt more like country than indie rock. I did like that influence. The singer’s intonation was certainly unique. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It was a pretty pleasant listen. 6/10
some great guitar riffs, I like how the songs lead into the next and the voice is not bad. However the lyrics are wandering and unoriginal and some songs just go on forever repeating the same words. 5/10
I was amused that both this album and the last one mentioned Abraham Lincoln. The sound was very pleasant. Very cohesive and so artistic and focused on instrumentals. 8/10
My first time listening to this band! I like how cohesive the album is and how signature the style. 6.5/10
