The beginning of the album starts off with sparse arrangements of acoustic or clean electric guitar and voice with little percussion, through to a wonderful instrument track, maturing to full psychedelic and dark blues. This album has unmistakable classics such as white rabbit and somebody to love.

Unbelievably cool! Rap heritage, classic and inspiring storytelling. Ice Cube, Dre, Easy E and MC Ren and Yella .. just awesome.

Beginning of an era. Doomy sounding from the get go, bass up front in the mix and frantic with, of course, Ozzys voice and storytelling. Saying that still splashes and overtones from the psychedelic 60s.

Master class in storytelling and song composition. Beautiful album with two undeniable hits, wild world and father and son.

Wanted to love this album. Production , singing and playing are classic big band Ray Charles. Unfortunately most of the songs are slower love songs or revamped blues renditions, which drops it a star for me.

As the title suggests the album starts at breakneck pace and is an awesome example of big band jazz.

Some great songs in a very black keys style. Howlin for you being a global smash. Whole album is well halted but quite understated from song to song.

Raw and wonderful. Anybody who can start an album with a 10 minute song, allow the musicians to solo as long as they want then follow it with Golden Years is a genius. Classic Bowie.

Another great early Bowie album. Some of it sounds like poetry , others straight and of course there is The Jean Genie.

Psychedelic rambling for the first half and seemingly songs and tunes strung together to form some sort of concept album.

Postpunk. Guitar and instrument sounds way better. Nice melodies good harmonies. Cleaner. Also fusion of punk and rock ‘n’ roll.

Black Sabbath at their best. Contrast of longer instrumental sections in songs and classics like Changes and Supernaut.

Classic album the encapsulates the late 60s. Unforgettable tunes like sunshine of my love and strange brew to start the whole thing off. Flowing into more bluesy mainstream toward the end with a great version of outside woman blues.

Truly shows you can write a song about anything and write music to any lyrics. Not sure this doom floats my boat.
