1001 Albums Summary

Weird but good. I feel like I’m going to say that a lot

It’s like if your cool grandpa made an album

You can feel the passion and thoughtfulness that was put into the album. It’s truly a labor of love and I have nothing bad to say. Sure, it’s a long album, but most of us were just gonna scroll on reddit most of the evening anyways.

I got back to back Stevie Wondier albums (Songs in the Key of Life, and Talking Book). Compared to the latter, Talking Book feels a little more stripped back and relaxed. Less isn’t always more, both albums are equally impressive in their own unique ways. Top Tracks: Superstition, Blame it On The Sun

Sounds good to me

Grimy dirty rock and roll at it’s core Top Tracks: Search and Destroy, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell

idk man I just like pop punk grunge rock songs that go dundundundundundundun with a bass line and a sick drumbeat top tracks: Eric’s Trip, Teen Age Riot

It’s a great album, but forgettable to me. I would gladly listen to it again, but to me it doesn’t climb its way to my heart. Reminds me a little bit of Grouplove. Top Tracks: Bye Bye Bad Man

I really wanted to like this album, but I just couldn't. Several of the songs sound "samey", and not much stuck out. I haven't listened to a lot of Radiohead in my life, and this was a disappointing introduction in my opinion. Top Tracks: Jigsaw Falling into Place, Bodysnatchers

The album and writing lacks structure, which seems to be intentional. Not bad by any means if you think of it as poetry / spoken word and temper expectations. Top Tracks: Trouble Child, Raised on Robbery

I remain convinced that this album is riding a wave of nostalgia. Believe it or not, good musicians can make mediocre or even bad music. Top Tracks: Sister Midnight

This album is as annoying as it is ahead of it's time. Top Tracks: Wowie Zowie, Help, I'm a Rock

The reviews have me dead but I completely understand if you didn't like this album Top Tracks - Country Song, Performance

I do find it odd that generic pop that takes a lacking stance on anything is considered an album I must hear before I die. That being said, it's not terrible, just generic pop music for risk-adverse people. And this is coming from someone who was forced to listen to country music growing up. Top Tracks: Green Eyes (I'm biased here), The Scientist, Clocks

It's a powerful album that is raw, creative, and relevant. I think it's a great example of spoken poetry turned into a musical form with great production behind it.

I mean, it’s The Beatles. Top Tracks - Please Mister Postman, Roll Over Beethoven, Money (That’s What I Want)

Absolute classic, and laid the blueprint for underground hip hop. Top Tracks - Bring Da Ruckus, Protect Ya Neck, Wu-Tang: 7th Chamber

why am i throwing ass in this coffee shop rn

Everyone’s so creative! Personally, I love when an incredible guitar riff is interjected with random trumpeting or a boat horn. The later half of the album does redeem itself.

coffee shop music (no offense)

this shit sucks (forced to listen to county music growing up)

I really think we need to have a discussion on "You Must Hear Before You Die", half of these albums have been flops so far.
