Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 26 2026
Disraeli Gears by Cream
Jun 29 2026

After the opening two tracks thought I was going to love this, ended up just kind of liking it. The rest of the album ranges from decent to mediorce to the outright bizarre. Probably will listen again at some point.

Different Class by Pulp
Jun 30 2026

Common People and Disco 2000 are classics but that's about where my enjoyment of this ends. The instrumentals are pretty much all very catchy and well put together but the vocals do not work for me at all. Sometimes it sounds like he's singing without ever actually hearing the music he's singing over. I know the whisper singing is a stylistic choice but I just do not get on with it. Some of the lyrics are also cringe worthy to me. Maybe I'll like this a bit more on a second listen but as a first go round I am not a fan.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jul 01 2026

This is the stuff. Straight bangers. RIP Ozzy

Suicide by Suicide
Jul 02 2026

A bunch of songs with annoying breathy vocals that go absolutely nowhere. Then you get to "Frankie Teardrop" which is wihtout question the most bizarre song I have ever heard. It's like if the ghoulish voiceover on Thriller was just the whole song. Just didn't really get this album at all.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jul 03 2026

First time listening to a Cure album in full. An enjoyable listen but nothing to write home about for me. The second half of the album started to lose my attention a little but I really liked the closing track, Will likely revisit this one at some point.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jul 06 2026

This is good but not great in my opinion. None of the 18 tracks here are bad by any means but there are no real hits either. Did expect more coming into it so maybe I liked it a little less due to that. Favourite song was probably Tumbling Dice.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Jul 07 2026

I'd probably give this one a 3.5 but I'm going to elect to keep things positive and round up rather than down. This was my second consecutive Rolling Stones record after Exile On Main Street and I defiintely did enjoy this one more. The middle run of Live With Me to Midnight Rambler & the closing track are great. I'm very new to hearing Rolling Stones besides the major major hits and I think the more time I spend with this one I'll probably end up liking it even more.

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Jul 09 2026

Sounds perfectly fine but just found it largely uninteresting. Don't have much else to say. Empty Sky and The Fuse the standout tracks for me.

Honky Tonk Heroes by Waylon Jennings
Jul 10 2026

Didn't expect to enjoy this but I actually really loved it? Made me feel like I was sitting in an old school bar with everyone having a singsong and a good time. I love music that takes me out of reality for a short while.

B-52's by The B-52's
Jul 13 2026

Found myself tapping my foot and bobbing my head for pretty much the whole duration.

Bossanova by Pixies
Jul 14 2026

I enjoyed it but didn't love it. I think this will be a grower on me so will definitely be getting another listen.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 16 2026

Good, but after hearing Paranoid shortly before, felt a little lacklustre in places

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Jul 17 2026

This threatens to be cool but never actually follows thorugh on it.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Jul 20 2026

I'm kinda giving this rating on principle. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood today but this didn't do a great deal for me. Granted it's perhaps not the best album to stick on not even a week removed from a breakup lol

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Jul 21 2026

Didn't really land for me this one. Was surprsingly bored and found this really started dragging on after a few tracks. Favourite song was probably The Cross.

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Jul 22 2026

Short album but some nice music on here, will probably check out their other stuff.

Gentlemen by The Afghan Whigs
Aug 14 2026

Good album but I've come to review this the day after and I don't really recall any of the songs or any of my points on it. so 3, I guess.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Aug 17 2026

Always love an excuse to listen to this again. One of my all-time favourites. Just sumptuous music.
