Pink Flag
WireSeems like one of these guitar riffs provided a sample for... Elastica maybe? I can hear a prelude to Minor Threat in these songs. Got about halfway through the album but I get the idea.

This album wasn't on my radar and I appreciated the chance to give it a listen. It didn't instantly grab me, but it was enjoyable. The themes and sound are pretty much exactly what I expect from Springsteen after I grew up listening to Born in the USA, which my dad had on vinyl.
There's no doubt that Biggie was incredibly talented, but the relentless misogyny wasn't cute in the '90s and grates even more now.
Some of these songs are so good, but they don't carry the album as a whole.
It was fine? It didn't make that much of an impression to be honest.
I love the smoothness of Around the Way Girl, and how big the beats feel on some of the other tracks. The braggadocio is pretty charming, especially in contrast to the outright misogyny of the Biggie album I listened to a few days ago. There are a few tracks I'd probably skip the next time (Milky Cereal, really?) but I would listen to this album again.
I hadn't listened to this album all the way through. It was overall more spare than I was expecting.
The last third of it is very atmospheric.
Lovely album
Not really my thing, but I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.
I already knew and loved a couple songs off this album but I found that most of it faded into the background while I was listening. I would give it another shot.
This album goes hard. Lots of great tracks.
I liked this more than I expected. The length worked for some of the songs but others were a bit much. Station to Station, Golden Years, and Wild is the Wind were standouts.
I think Dirty Computer has more standouts, but this album has a cohesive feel and creative production.
Not my thing. Very '80s but not in the good way.
Fine but it didn't grab me. There are albums from the late 80s and early 90s whose production sounds timeless, but this isn't one of them.
I found myself tapping my toes to some of these. I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this album but I wouldn't mind if it were on in the background and I can understand how it captured the imaginations of white teenagers in the '50s. I have to say, though, Tutti Frutti was a really inferior cover.
You know it's good when the album loops back around and you're excited to hear the first song again.
I suppose it evokes a certain mood. But it was kind of boring.
So good!
