Not always sure what to make of this album in terms of the tone. Each track brings something different and unique to the album. Goes from easy listening soul to James Bond style music to something out of the Lemon Jelly playbook. I had hoped for a standout tune as per Michael’s “Cold Little Heart” but alas this is pleasant enough to have in the background but doesn’t warrant a detailed re-listen
A range of genres. Rock one minute, medieval the next, instrumental, funk. Always love the unique sound of Jon Anderson's vocals. Feels experimental given Rick Wakeman's influence on synthesisers and the new sounds they were producing. But there are better Yes albums than this one
Starts off with one of the best known White Stripes songs. Some great tracks in the unique White Stripes style, but none quite match that opening track. Get Behind Me Satan is probably a more balanced album.
This album feels like witnessing the birth of the mega band that Queen became. Killer Queen is the obvious stand out track but this has so many less known moments that signal their signature style
Very mixed styles. Some I really enjoy and some I can’t get through and skip! A couple of bangers though
Really enjoyable album!
Another album with mixed styles. Scores highly in part thanks to the all time classic, Every Breath You Take.
Yeah this is pretty awful sounding. It’s like the band members all made the most bizarre tracks independently and then they mixed them altogether later! Appreciate the experimentation just not the result!
An album of two half’s. First half is relaxed, almost reminiscent of Vangelis. Fleetwood Mac or Thomas Newman. The second half is when the singing starts and detracts from the quality in the first. A nice sounding album when instrumental!
Very pleasant listening!
Generic 90s rock!
Nice to have some variation from all the rock music. I mean Imagine was a surprise but in general this was reasonable
Fantastic album! So many classics on there!
One stand out track 😂
Lovely bit of jazz!
I generally don’t enjoy hip hop but this album by Common has some great tracks to have pleasantly playing in the background
Such a unique sounding voice. Enjoyed listening to this if you don't listen too closely to the lyrics and ignore the personality of the man himself!
Distinct Belle & Sebastian sounds but feels a little homogeneous
Some great funk with tracks that aren’t afraid to be long listens
Not awful but got bored of this quickly
Feels almost too archetypal 50s country
Great opening track and nice background rock thereafter
Another album where one song is just just so much more well known generally than others
Great album. Lots of fun!
Obviously Walk This Wsy is a classic. Everything else is generic and bland so splitting this down the middle
Not really my cup of tea. Can hear moments of good music but overall in the minority by saying this was not for me
Absolute classics
You can see where the White Stripes took their influences from
Enjoyed the random spoken word
