NEU! 75 by Neu!
Sep 12 2025

Excellent, well-mixed Krautrock. It has a lot of elements of post-rock, almost spacey, beautiful power pop piano chords, and drums that remind me of David Bowie. There is nothing to freak out about this album; it is just instrumental rambling on jams with ambient Berlin school pads and beautiful piano. Lush, hypnotic, reverby. I think overall, it just feels like it was extremely ahead of its game and time. For sure deserving of being an album you hear before you die. Rating: 5/5 Genre: Krautrock, Proto-Punk, Ambient, Berlin School, Experimental Rock

Pearl by Janis Joplin

Not my thing, I'd rather hear a black artist sing soul music with actual soul than a white woman with substance abuse issues. Not dishing on people going through shit but I think her music stands as a testament that white hippie artist overshadow important black artists during this time.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Sep 16 2025

Solid but feels uncohesive, the various production sounds and lengths give it more of an album of jams and demos than an outright put-together album with a central theme. Some incredible blues rock jams and some straight-forward psych rock dirty guitar, it just isn't enough for me to come back to this experience again, I'd rather listen to an earlier album.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Sep 18 2025

What can I say that hasn't been said? It's one of the greatest pop albums of all time. The production and lyrical content are some of the best ever and the sophistication of synth pop at its highest; it still has a dark edge that their debut had, but now with a more approachable set.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Sep 19 2025

It's fine, it's of the era, it's well done, it's got some sick punk progressions but it's like a two for me. I should have rated Janis Joplin lower haha.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Sep 23 2025

Not my thing, sounds really great though and Adam Raised a Cain is pretty sick

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Sep 24 2025

Never really listened to them, but hey, I get the appeal, it's groovy, technically impressive, got some industrial metal vibes, got those post-hardcore and nu metal bridges, it's extremely accessible for a metal album. I can't hate.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream

Way more experimental and interesting textural stuff than I thought, I think I really vibe with this

One of the best if not the best dream pop album of all time, incredible music, incredible production.

Devil Without A Cause by Kid Rock
Apr 30 2026

Nope, not at all. Quite literally some of the lamest shit out there.

It's good but I'm not a massive Public Enemy fan, says the white dude. I'm not much of a hardcore rap guy and would turn to something like A Tribe Called Quest during this time.
