1001 Albums Summary

9/23/2025 - had never listened to this before. Nothing really stood out as amazing, but some parts especially the intermixed spoken word parts stood out as being 'off' compared to the rest of the record. Good for work/focus time.

feels like a recency bias, 21 is the album that should be represented for her

kind of interesting, the last song reminded me of mars volta a lot

all your dreams are made when your chained to the mirror and the razor blade today's the day when all the world will see

it was fine, there were parts/songs were you could hear their influence on Mars Volta but I probably won't be returning to this record

forgot how deep and good this record is, bought a vinyl copy after listening to it

a lot of pop culture references, didn't really get it

even in hs, I thought this album has really high highs and then some parts I really struggle to get through the song.

maybe better than I expect a Doors album? Wasn't expecting much despite knowing 1/2 the songs on this, and owning the vinyl, but some of the deeper tracks hold up, too. IF you can deal with Manzarek's organ, it's a good record

good record, had never listened to more than the singles. A lot of depth and chill work music

didn't really get or like this album in 2009, and still holds true today. Parts of it feel like Mars Volta but it never gives you that punch they deliver
