1001 Albums Summary

While not the type of music I'd normally listen to it is really well played and recorded. Chan Chan is the outstanding track.

A lot of swearing doesn't make a good album unless you are 12. While done of the beats are good the rapping is just ok. Maybe gangsta rap isn't my thing but no idea why this is considered a classic.

The classic Beastie's raps but with real instruments. Amazing lyrics and tunes.

One of Duran Duran's best and goes beyond the New Romantic image. Worth it just for The Chauffeur.

While I appreciate the musicianship this isn't my type of music. This reminds me of spotty teenage boys with patches on their denim jackets.

One of the best albums of the 90's if not all time. Halo is my favourite track though overshadowed by the amazing singles.

Of its time but not bad. Pacific 202 is the standout, though not the best version of the track.

While not top tier The Smiths it's still very good. Last Night I Dreamt...is stunning (it's amazing how much the version without the intro loses due to no build up). Marr did the right thing splitting at this point.

It took me a few years to take appreciate this album fully, the surround mix on SACD takes it to another level.

As a confirmed Coldplay hater this is them at their least pompous and mediocre. Some good tunes and attempts to be Jeff Buckley. They genuinely could have been more interesting, and less successful, following this path.

I like Back to Black but had never listened to Frank. To be Frank, it's not as good or even close. Too much cocktail jazz and lack of memorable tunes. Not for me at all.

Not for me. No stand out tunes, good rapping and musicianship but feels overrated.

Technically it's fine and inoffensive. Taken in the scheme of 1966 it's poor. Why listen to this when you have Beatles and the Stones, The Who, Love, Buffalo Springfield and The Monkees!!
