songs i know and love but i don’t think i’ve ever sat down to listen to the album through? very enjoyable and great start. clearly the blueprint for so much music, im hearing so many samples in these songs

despite releasing in 1977, it still sounds fresh and relevant today almost 50 years later - songs about unemployment, anti-americanisation, and frustration at the political system in the UK. great high energy throughout its tight 36 min run time and just a generally really good album!! 5/5

fun prog rock/rock opera vibes! can see why people went crazy for this when it came out

depressing! i liked the demo vibe, i don’t think i was massively in the mood for this when i listened. good storytelling for the characters in the songs but it does start depressing and doesn’t let up

i just don’t think this was for me. songs are too long. i feel like i got very intimate with prince and i didn’t like it

i enjoyed this!! may listen again looking at the lyrics properly based on other reviews. i like bob dylan but i don’t think i’ve listened to an album through so this was a good place to start i think

it started okay and now it’s awful. holy water could be a least fave song of this whole project so far. why is there 17 songs and by song 8 i hate it already. hope it picks up my god

america is one of the best songs of all time so that makes this album a 5. i thought the interludes brought the album together well. really good album and i love the sillyness of being an english muffin or kelloggs cornflake

i feel like this is more of a 3.5 cause when it’s good it’s great and when it’s not, it’s just pots and pans banging around

some crazy homophobia and misogyny in the lyrics but it’s a fun album!! sounds slightly corny now just with how the genre has progressed since, but you can understand the tensions in compton in the 90s through this album and it’s still relevant today. maybe not a personally relevant album to me but enjoyed none the less - 3.5

sounds like the beatles, guitar is a nice sound but quite samey, not bad not amazing

feels like my dad has sat me down for an hour to show me “music was better in the 80s”, which is what a lot of this list is feeling like sometimes. nothing wrong with it massively just very samey and by the end i was waiting for it to be over.

potentially the most accurate band name ever obviously i love it, it’s cheesy and extra in the best way 4.5/5

some interesting moments in this album but did i need to hear this before i died? no. this list has some amazing albums and then what seems to be the authors personal taste creeping through

suppose if you were there at the time this would blow your mind. fun and classic songs on here but to listen to the album front to back is very intense, i feel like i have a high tolerance for jazz and blues but this tested me

the singles i know from this album are really good, but everything else was so drawn out. the male vocals were awful!! so so grating!!

cheesy, very 80s, and ultimately uncool, but i did enjoy it? i’ve now listened to a lot of weird 80s pop/rock on this list and it’s the best of a bad bunch. i do find the album cover terrifying though? why did they pick this? 3.5!

for all the cheesy 70s rock this list has given me this is a standout, very enjoyable with some huge songs on here, most notably does not drag or all sound the same like similar albums in the genre

keep trying to listen to this in full and getting distracted so i don’t know if this is a fair rating, i have enjoyed it but it doesn’t seem so jump out to me

unfinished symphony being the highlight but this is solid - very defining album of the genre/era imo! they have better albums but this is very solid
